Just watch the end of live earth... The Police was the closing act with "Message in the bottle". For some reason they had Keenan West on stage with them... Good lord. Ruined the song.

Well didn't get a chance to get the Roush out this weekend. I did fill it up with premium this morning but it was a short trip. Had some other projects to attend to yesterday. My second hobby is preserving Civil War Battlefields. I grew up 10 miles from Gettysburg Pa so I've always had an interest in the Civil War so I belong to a group (CWPT) 'Civil War Preservation Trust' that collects funds, lobbies local communities where battlefield lands are in danger from 'urban spawl' and we buy that land to preserve many of the endangered battlefields of the USA....One of our latest victories was the purchase of 208 acres called "The Slaughter Pen" at the Battle of Fredricksburg. VA. That land cost us $12 million. Anyway enough about boring you. I was busy working on that stuff yesterday>>>

Very cool hobby. I love history. Especially WWII era but basically all military history is interesting.

Once my son gets a little older... probably for his 16th Bday, I'm going to take him to Truk Lagoon in the South Pacific to dive. Towards the end of the war, we caught a bunch of the Jap's ship in harbor and sunk them. It was kinda like their Pearl Harbor. The ultimate wreck dive. Cargo, subs, destroyers, etc. There’s even tanks and planes that fell off the cargo ships as they sank. There’s still live ordinance down there as well…. Just to make things interesting.

That would be a great trip. I went to their website. Looks like the diving would be unbelieveable!!!!

I haven't collected any weapons besides a few CW era bullets (Mini ***** they call them). I have a small collection of civil war stuff. I'm so far away from the major battle areas its not easy to collect anything except when I visit the east coast. I also figured instead of spending $5,000+ on rifles or bayonet I would spend some of that on securing battlefield land for future generations of people to see.
