The only thing i saw smoking was the white car every time he got on it on our trip to eureka. If brenspeed set your car up as lean as mine you may be looking at some engine work soon.
Dunno? With my 1/4 mile times I say its right on.
Lean would make it run like a stripped ape.I can tell that my car is not as snappy since he lowered my air fuel ratio.I'm not happy that i lost some hp,but i Know the engine is safe.No guessing here.
Perhaps. However I understand that the computer can sense the lean condition and enrich on it's own as well as pull timing if it gets dangerous. Hmmmmm........I wonder if the Hennessy guy had the bung sniffer correct? I understand that Brenspeed and bama use a relitively "safe" tune as far a air fuel ratio is concerned.

The sniffer said mine was spot on and very safe. The computer can sense lean conditions at partial throttle from what I understand, BUT at WOT it goes into whats called a "Closed loop" and all adjustments by the computer are out the window and it does whatever the tune says to do.
I asked the hennesey guy about this and he told asked me if I had noticed my car seeming a little slower at partial throttle at times...I said yes...then he asked if I had taken the car back to stock and reinstalling my tune..I said the car feels a lot better when I do that. He then told me about closed loop and open loop "active learning" by the computer. Said that the computer makes adjustments at partial throttle but none when at WOT.
I could be wrong on this... just going by how I understood it from him
Interesting. All the same I might see if Greg can data log my car to see the AF ratio on Sat.
Can you see the A/F ratio durring datalogging?... I think you might need a Wideband for that.
Yes.
Yes you can see the AF or yes you need the wideband?
Yes you can see the AF on the datalogging. You don't need a wideband to do datalogging.
Word.
I know you dont need a wideband to data log... wideband monitors A/F. to answer my question "yes you can see AF during normal datalogging
Very good Crawnk!
I believe that we have estblished that the tuner was "seeing" a false reading due to the placement of the sniffer into the bung in the cat. Jarrods car was spot on because there was no converter to affect the reading.
Side note:
What is the status of the BHF TV thing Paul? Do we need to get together some footage or pictures to submit for the club?
