1999 Cobra help

Ok so we got the motor in and shes running fine. BUT now we notice some purplish tinted smoke (ie rich unburned fuel) coming out of the tailpipes on a load. Car is surging a little bit as well.

Check engine light is on and I pulled the codes (there were 3 of them)

· P0136 02 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank I Sensor 2)
· P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
· P1000 - OBD-II Monitor Testing Incomplete

Is bank 1 sensor 2 the back O2s? If so shouldnt the MILs delete the rears and shouldnt be throwing a code? If anyone has any opinions or can shed some light on this please do.

Sorry. This thread only supports 2005+ Mustangs..

JK young J-Bear... Do you have the O2 Sensors installed??? Or not so much? If they are, make sure they are hooked up right. They P0136 code means the computer doesn't see em. (I believe). That would also explain the smoke... P0141 is probably related. Two codes for one problem.

P1000 is kinda of a random error. I use to get it on the Lightning all the time. It was hit or miss. Sometimes it would throw it and other time not. i always heard the computer check didn't fully complete. No sweat.

P1000 is a code that indicates that the computer system has not completed an full OBDII cycle every ford will have that stored when you pull codes the reason you havnt seen it is because the tuners turn that code off so they dont get calls about it.
Call my cell 237-6447 and I will give you the information on how to diag your problems

Bank 1 sensor 2 is the rear O2 sensor on the passanger side

All 99 Cobras came with a 710 delete option. All you have to do is rev past 8000 and the crank will ask the rod to vacate the 710 holder thus performing the delete option.
