Yeah, good idea. I think you're the first one to get one on this forum!

I can hardly wait to get mine........

Does the color change in the sunlight much? I expected it to be a little darker? I think maybe because of the clouds it looks lighter?

I think my flash was on during the shots. In the picture it looks a lot like the old performance red color of the pre-'05 mustangs. In real life it does look darker and you can see the metallic. This weekend I'll try and get some better shots in the sunlight and post them here. In the direct sunlight it really pops.

. . . . If you look at the under the hood shots, the strut towers look more like it does in person.

Well, I was doing work at my Ford client here... and they just *happened* to have a DCAR GT... pretty plain... but that paint under the flourescent lights was awesome. I had to stop and go sit in it. It wasn't sold yet, and was in make ready... and I am a really good person about not messin' up the car... so I got in. Nobody cared. I fit in it... I loved it...

Not my interior... and it was an auto... but I dang near went to talk to someone anyway as it was the right outside color...

I'll be patient though...

I can't wait to see it in broad daylight... And those pics are sweet. Congrats on your new baby!

(So wanting one now... Nice one, Ford!)

((Hm... may have to change my sig and avatar...))

You thought it was plain?

Are you going to order one? Can you take some pics?

Of course, being a Mustang, it's not so plain, to be sure... but compared to most, it's pretty plain. Charcoal interior, cloth, no dress up... just a plain GT, no options save the automatic.

Mine would be this way, given the color...

2008 Mustang GT, Deluxe
5 speed
Dark Candy Apple Red Clearcoat Metallic (YEAH!)
Parchment Cloth interior
IUP, satin
Shaker 500/1000 (haven't decided yet)
Ambient lighting
17" 10 spoke Bright Cast Aluminum wheels
Spoiler delete

So that's a little less plain... I think that's pretty much it.

Of course, I would then go about doing these:

Plain black honeycomb grille, no fogs, no horse. I'll probably have to make it.

Saleen (IIRC...) front lower facia, and put fogs there, where they belong.

Change the side badges... unless I find a rear ended 2008 V6 in DCARCM whose front fenders aren't damaged... then I can just do a badge delete the hard way instead, which is what I really want. (still find it hard to believe they put a hole in the fenders for the GT badges... sigh.)

Change rear "gascap" to the V6 one.

GT500 rear facia. Prolly gotta get it painted... :P

Silicone wiper blades.

Antenna cut.

Rockers painted to match GT500 facia

Inset quarter panel louvers... I saw them once... I want.

There is the possibility that I would get an aftermarket wing/spoiler/ducktail/? but it's the last item.

Then it'd be what I wanted. Exactly.

Thanks a lot for all the complements! I feel like I have a GT500 or something! Anyways, I figured I'd let you know I posted redfire/candyapple comparision shots here:

P.S. If you just cant wait, I know for a fact that the dealer in Pekin, Illinois has a 2008 Candy apple GT/CS with Parchment interior and manual trans.

Thanks again Den!

Houtex, I like your future Stang specs, close to my own. But, you don't have to build your own grill. Moss has one for about $150. Here's the tread that talks about it with plenty of pics!

I already have one in black for my 08 pony when it gets here! It looks real good!

Yes, I've seen that, but notice the word 'honeycomb' in my post...

Don't think that's honeycomb... My old Muskrat had the 65 honeycomb... and I loved it plain.

Close though... close. I did think about that grille but decided it wasn't what I want. Thanks though!

We need to stop talkin' about me though... this is supposed to be the 'Kudos to Den and his awesome lookin' DCARCM Mustang' thread!

'gratz once again, Den! me=jealous a little.

Saw a Candy apple red GT/CS yesterday at Myrtle Beach. I must say I like it better than redfire or Torch red.
