It does look like the wheels are painted silver.

Anyways, I like the Candy Apple Red myself!

Mine should be here in a couple of weeks!

Thanks for the pics!

I like it and imagine it will only look better up close and personal. Can't wait til mine gets here........the wait is killing me! IMO, not crazy about the wheels. They are nice, just not my personal favorite.

Congrats! Do you have any idea when your car will get here? Mine is supposed to have been built this last week, should be here in a couple of weeks!

Speaking of wheels, I went down to Discount Tire yesterday and ordered some new wheels/tires for my 08 GT when it comes in!

I was able to work a deal just like when I got my 05 V6 where I trade in the stock wheels/tires and get a $400 discount off a new set of after market. Total cost out the door was around $990. I went with the same BFG KDWS tires I'm running now in 255/50/R17 and here's a link to my new wheels.......

Thanks Falchion! No idea when mine is coming in. I'll put it sometime in September. You're order is way ahead of mine.

I'm liking the new wheels you ordered!

Thanks, I like them too, I also like the deal I was able to cut for them.

I was going to get the fan blade wheels (64E) from the factory, but Ford started painting the pockets in the spokes dark grey which didn't look so good to me. Here's a link to the tread that talks about those.....

And here's a closeup of the new wheels, plus there's some other pics at the bottom of a Dark Candy Apple V6 vert! Looks good to me!

Saw another Candy Apple Red today. It was overcast again, but for the life of me I couldn't see metallic flakes. Not doubting they are there, but it's much more subtle than other metallic paints I've seen.

You may not be able to see the flake on a cloudy day. But the Ford paint sample sheet has "Dark Candy Apple Red Metallic" right on it. I posted a pic of the sheet in one of the other treads under Candy Apple.

It's metallic. It's just so subtle on this color for some reason.

Very very nice pics.

I went down to my Dealer yesterday and saw Candy Apple Red for the first time in person. It looked good, but a lot closer to Redfire then I had expected.

It also looked a lot more different in person then the pics I've been seeing. Maybe under different lighting conditions it will look more like the pics on this forum?

The lighting defiantly affects the CA color. When mines in the garage with no sunlight it looks like a none metallic Burgundy. However when outside in natural sunlight the color really jumps out at you. You can then see the metallic and the red becomes alot brighter.

Little tough to explain until you see it on your own in diffrent condition's.

What about when it's cloudy outside? Have you noticed a difference then?

I just called, and my car was produced on 8-10-07, released on 8-13-07, and should ship in the next day or two. Should be here pretty soon!

Not sure when though.......

Guys, I think this is what makes this color so unique is because it changes in so many different light conditions. It does look more Redfire to me on overcast days, but in sunlight it brightens right up.

On a sunny day I stood back about 10ft and could still see the metalic flake without a problem. The pictures just aren't showing it as well as in person for whatever reason.

Another note, I saw my window sticker for the first time today...got to love it.

Receipt Date: 7/6/2007
Serialize Date: 7/19/2007
Segment Date: 7/19/2007
Sequence Date: 8/2/2007
Blend Date: 8/8/2007

Is it me or is time moving to slow...

I really can't say about cloudy condition. I have yet to see it but would assume it is the same as in the garage.

My car is a drive when sunny or covered in garaged type of car. It's not an every day driver.
