2008 Candy Apple Red GT/CS is finally in!

I ordered my CAR GT/CS on 01/12/08 and it finally arrived at the dealer on 03/15/08. Plans are to pick it up tomorrow 03/18/08.

Since everyone here is picture happy, including me, here are a few from the dealer lot. More later in the week since it's going to rain about 12 hours after I get it !

I have been enjoying it all afternoon. After I left the dealer I got on to the highway, was still in 3rd gear, and nailed it. The expression on my face must have been priceless.

It's been 11 years since driving a stick, so i'm a little slow at that part right now. I seem to be having a problem finding 3rd. Hopefully it's just me.

It's going to start snowing, sleeting, and raining soon, so it is covered up and parked until the rain ends on Thursday. Next outing will be Friday and the weekend. Hopefully it's warm enuff for a few coats of Zaino!

Is 3rd gear grinding on you? Several of us members are having 3rd gear synchro issues, so make sure that it's you and not the car. My 08 GT/CS just had the tranny rebuilt. The car has less than 600 miles on it.

3rd isn't grinding, I either keep hitting the space between 1st and 3rd, or 3rd is just hard to get into. I also notice the shift will vibrate when in 3rd at lower speeds, but maybe i'm there too early. It's not visual, but it can be felt.

After cleaning it up a bit, I found some flaws...

Rear bumper has a scuff mark which could be buffed out. There is also a little dimple sticking out. Looks like something is under it pushing it out.

I found 3 little white marks / bumps in the stripe. Looks like there is dirt under it.
The worst is some dirt in the paint. Right on the edge of the pillar next to the drivers side window has some gunk lodged in the paint. Not too happy about that one. Hopefully that one is an easy fix.

Maybe i'm being a bit ****, but I feel these things shouldn't be there!

that's a beauty, man. Looks exactly like mine! =).

Hey, I feel ya on the minor flaws. In my case, there was a BIG flaw with the transmission syncros. I bought my car, drove it for about a week, and have been without it for almost 3 weeks now! I'm pretty frustrated, but as long as the dealer resolves the issues.

I don't think even those minor flaws are acceptable on a brand new car...

I'm putting on my flip down license plate holder tomorrow and bringing it into the dealer for the inspection sticker on Monday. The stripe is easily fixable with a new stripe, but i'm more concerned about fixing the paint with the crud under it. I'll see what they say when I bring it in!

Don't settle for anything other then a perfect repair.I can tell by your excitement on the forum before it came that this car was something special to you.So make sure you are happy with the repairs.

Don't panic they look like easy fixes.Hate to see that on a car you waited for, you would think the factory guys would take special care on a customer ordered car more so than just a regular production number. My 2008 CAR GT/CS has the best paint and trim than any car I have ever bought I can not find one bad spot on it so they can do it they just screwed up on yours.
