GT500KR hood pins questions for Amy and/or KR connaisseurs

1. Who makes the twist-type hood pins for the GT500KR hood and where can they be purchased?
2. Would they fit an OEM GT hood in the same location?
3. What (if any) modifications would be necessary?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

From the pictures it appears the KR hood has slight recesses where the hood pins go, so I don't think you'd get QUITE as flush of a fit on an OEM hood, but I'm sure it would work.

I have heard those hood pins are for sale but I looked all over for them with no luck. I could be wrong but I think there are hood pins on some classic Mustangs that look like those....maybe you could make those work. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on the matter.

Plenty of those around, but I was hoping to find out exactly which ones are on the GT500KR hood. Maybe Amy can shed some light over this...

Louie your best bet is to go to www.shelbyautos.com. Look for the email address for Bud at Shelby. You may have to join the forum but anyway if you send him a question he will get back to you in like a half an hour or faster. Really nice guy. Amy seems to be in and out alot and hasnt been ablt to respond as fast as a few months back. I think this kind of thing is Bud's alley. GL and let us know the answer

the KR ones are an updated version being made for us for the New KR. It will fit the resess in the new hood. I haven't decided if they will be sold yet, if they are, the placement might be different by model, and even year due to the new way we made these.

As an FYI the old ones never worked well, so we have redesigned

Thank you, Amy! I'm interested if they are made to fit the OEM GT/V6 hoods too.
