My wife and I were toying with going to the Sturgis Mustang Show this year. Anybody on the forum ever attend this event? Is it family freindly or does it get raunchy like the motorcycle event?

 

I live in Summerset, about 12 miles from Sturgis. I am a member of the Sturgis Mustang Club, and did attend this year. This is a family oriented get together with kids welcome. Seconded! I was there and it is a total class weekend. Frank and Ed put on a serious show, plus the surrounding attractions are outstanding.

I have been to several and they are like nothing short of a Hot Rod Cruise event held by Hot Rod Magazine or similiar.

 

I have been too the last four Sturgis events, and would highly recommend it. I am pretty sure you will have great time.

Sturgis will be the weekend of September 1st this year. The guest speaker for the Saturday night dinner is scheduled to be Steve Saleen.

I'd never heard of this until today. I'm seriously thinking about going. Are there typically booths from vendors like Roush, Saleen, Silverhorse Racing, Steeda, etc?

 

They are getting there, they have few booths, JDM Engineering(SALEEN), few more... judging by web site they are going to have couple more this year. Apple Ford Racing will be there again this year and they also have a booth.

 

How many cars did they have last year?

 

Over 500 I was told that was up from last year, not all are in the show, I think the number was close to 650...... don't quote me.
