Still, with a good tune, even a turbo-charged or posi-displacement blower can last a long time. Even at 9psi....
There is NO turbo lag. When you let the clutch out it loads the motor and the boost is there. In an auto trans just hold the brake and bring it up on the converter - even a stock converter wil do it.

Remember - my back ground is in Centrifugal Supercharging. I owned Paxton Superchargers from 1992 to 1998. I designed and pioneered the Novi 2000. I know the strengths and weakness of the centrifugal

Sadly, a single turbo system can not achieve CARB Exemption based on current emissions laws. - It clearly states you can not marry the exhaust which is required for a single turbo kit. However the vehicles will pass a sniffer test.

The advertised 300 hp is at the flywheel. A dyno measures rear wheel hp. You can expect about a 15% loss with a manual trans, and a little more with an auto. Others feel free to chime in if my numbers are off!

15% is an average for all cars, I think the manual mustang is probably closer to 12%.

577 rwhp 519 rwtq with a whipple @ 16psi, stock heads, stock cams, long tube 1 3/4 primary to 3 inch collector, PI 3300 stall converter, 5 speed AUTO transmission.

Already turned a 10.77 @ 125.82 mph at Famoso on 511 rwhp, so we will see what 577 rwhp is good for on January 20th.

I'm curious the type of dyno, Mustang or DynoJet? Also, do you have a manual or auto trans?

Thanks,

Dave Kegel

Dyno jet and I have a manual. Elevation is roughly 1100 feet in north texas. It was around valentines day of '07. Just a few days after I bought the car.
