If you're still within the 3/36 (not sure about extended warranties), yes they will. I had mine repaired for just that a few months back. They replaced the entire side panel on the driver's seat facing the door.

My passenger seat had a tear in the seem and they replaced it no questions asked. One of my friends dad had a WS6 Firebird and the seats wore and got wrinkles and before his warranty went up he got the seats replaced for free. I heard that you can do this once, if thats true Id just wait until the latest time you can.

With Fords' financial situation, i doubt they'll be replacing normal and wear and tear items any time soon. Loose stitching, maybe. Creasing and crinkling, good luck. Leather conditioner is the answer there if it aint too late.

Not to hijack the thread, but my passenger seat lever for the back seat passenger broke off when I went to put the seat forward, it just fell off. The little clip was broken. (the one that the passenger back side person can lift and tilt the seat forward. Could I call Ford and will they give me a new one?

Hey there,

As long as its within the 3 year 36,000 mile B2B period you are in luck.

Hope that helps

Since the leather in the Mustangs seem to need care on a fairly frequent basis, how often should a person "condition" the leather in their cars? I am using the Meguiar's leather care spray/liquid. Is that good enough? I've done it twice in the 3 months we've owned the car. Never had leather before, so I could use some good advice.

Its natural for all leather seats. Just be thankful ours is much better then a Porsche 911's, by far the worst leather in the industry(followed very closely by the M3's). But yes, any car such as Lexus or Corvette or you-name-it will get wear marks. Defects such as seams opening will always be covered when under warranty for just about any car, leather or otherwise. You have to be careful sliding into the car as you can 'grab' the corner of the seat and over-stress it, particularly wearing abrasive clothing like denim. Between basic stuff like that and not minding your keys and scratching up the car getting in and out, it makes everything last a lot longer. Also be mindful of wearing new unwashed clothing as the dyes, particularly in denims, WILL die the seat leather with perspiration.

yes. just remember that Ford is completely wrapped around 'customer satisfaction' so just refuse to be a satisfied customer until you get new leather. They will probably only replace it once so try to wait until the last year of warranty coverage. you'd be suprised at the things people have replaced

I wear a lot of black denim jeans . I have one favorite pair I wear a lot and the seat of those jeans Dove Grey from my GT/CS ! No matter what detergent I use or how many times I wash them --- still Dove Grey ! But the seats don't look black from my jeans ! Go figure !
