I can hear a ticking sound from my instrument cluster. I can really hear it after I turn the car off, and it lasts for like 20 seconds after the car is off, but lately its been getting louder and I can hear it all the time when the car is on? Anyone else got this?

Without knowing anything, could it be AC related?

...but seriously now, yesterday I thought I heard the same noise and at first I ignored it, but I guess there is something... I will check again later today.

I have the same thing. When you turn off the ignition, pay close attention to the fuel gage. The noise on mine corresponds exactly to the needle moving downwards. The noise stops as soon as the needle "parks" itself at the lower stop. I am not at all concerned because it is not audible at any other time. I assume this is just part of the mechanism.

Since you say that you hear the noise when the car is running, your noise may be coming from something completely different.

I have no plans to have the dealer look at this because any fix would require a replacement will will result in many rattles in what has been quite a rattle-free car.

Hope this helps. If anyone thinks this noise is actually coming from something else, I'd be curious to know.

I once had a terrible ticking sound which began out of the blue one day when I turned off the a/c setting the fan to off. It appeared to be eminating from right around the shifter just below the a/c dial. I gave a good whack with my hand to side of the center console on the passenger side of the shifter and it stopped making the ticking noise. Hasn't resurfaced since.
