Tail light bulb

Not sure if anyone else has encountered this but my passenger side brake light went out Friday. I went to 2 different auto part stores and was told that the bulb number was (Sylvania) 3157. So I bought one. After disassembling the tail light to get to the bulb I found out that the actual bulb inside is a 3057 .

Get an LED bulb! You'll never have to worry about that bulb burning out again...

Which bulb went out? Is it the inner one (closest to the trunk emblem)that does not light with the signals and brake lights? Could be either one will work but you definitely need one with two filaments for the outer lights that also work the signals and brake lights. I'm not sure which of the two (3157 or 3057) has two filaments.

All three bulbs are 3057s.
