Squeaking belt...
Hey guys I noticed one of my belts making a small squeaking sound in the mornings when I start it up and it continues even when it's driving. It's not a big sound it's really small but I notice it when I am driving with my windows downs close to a wall etc.. Which belt do you guys think needs replacing? Coming up on 59k miles. Thanks.

I'm betting it's not the belt, the belts are pretty stout and with only 59K doubt highly it is that stretched. My '08 explorer had this same issue brought it to ford since it was still under warranty, my tensioner was no good. The spring that is inside the tensioner wasn't up to par and was allow the belt to slip. they repalced the tensioner & belt and all is good, also some tensioner will bind and slack off and spring back( this is in simple terms) so even though it looks like there is tension sometimes it isn't enough. on a slimer chance it could be a bad pulley something like an idler. check it out further but if the tensioner is going bad a new belt will slip and get wrecked again.

Have you brought this up to your Ford dealer’s attention? If not, please make an appointment with them as soon as possible. Your Service Manager is in the best position to look into this for you. He can also look into any warranty, Recalls, or Customer Satisfaction Programs that may apply to your vehicle. If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to PM me.

Well if anyone cares I asked a friend at the tire shop down the road from me & he pointed out the idler pulley was more than likely it. I swapped it and no squeak!! Dealt with that crap all winter!

DO NOT spray any more WD40 on the belt. Go to the parts store and buy some valve grind compound. Comes in a tube from permatex. When the engine is OFF, dab some of the compound on your finger, wipe it on both the smooth side of the belt and in the ribs of the belt. What it will do is polish the surface of your pulleys. When many cars get old, they develop slight corrosion on the pulley grooves, resulting in a constant noise. It's a temporary fix, only other thing you can do is replace all the pulleys. Let me know how you make out!
