For the past few weeks I've been having some kind of whining sound when turning the wheel about 180 degrees and further. It is especially noticable when driving through parking lots. I took it to the dealership this weekend and after having the car for 7 hours they couldn't find anything and said that they didn't even notice the sound.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so what was the issue?

Mine is at the dealership, as I write this, for the same issue. Some clutches in the differential need to be replaced. That's what they told me at least. I'll let yall know if it fixes the problem when I pick her up today.

Oh, it says the fix for that TSB is to replace the clutch pack in the differential, which is in sync with what my dealer told me.

Cool Chris, let us know if it's fixed. Unfortunately, I have to wait another week to take mine back in.

Yup, completely fixed it. It's as quiet as a mouse now...quieter actually. I am one happy dude.

Wow... my 06 makes a moaning noise at low speeds when turning... I wonder if this could be my problem? I have been thinking power steering this whole time...

It is probably this. I also thought the moaning was coming from under my hood (front suspension), I was a bit surprised to find out it was the clutches in the differential.

Do you think this only applies to the GT? I know the TSB only says GT but my 06 V6 has a moan when turing. I think they put some GT parts on the V6's with the Pony Package. Anyone know?

I know another V6 owner is also experiencing the same noise. It doesn't hurt to print out the TSB, take your car to the service dept and have them take a look.

I have a 05 GT that is doing the same thing. I know this sounds stupid but what is the TSB? I am only hearing the noise when I am turning left slowly, not from a full stop, I do not hear it when I turn right. Is this a problem with 5-speeds only? I am also having problems with my paint, windevil blue.
only at the end of the hood, It appears to be like sandpaper under the paint. It was not like this when I purchased it. I ordered this car and waited 3 months to get it. I have only had it for 3 months. I love the car, but not liking some of the sounds I am hearing.

My 06 is making the moaning/rubbing noise, which sounds to be coming from the front end (power steering, rack). The tech heard the noise from the interior but things it is possibly just the tires. He verified the noise by doing slow speed circles in the car.

The noise didn't seem to be coming from the rear.

you guys i had been experiencing the same exact moaning noise from the front/end when i would turn left/right or into parking spots and it was being caused by the lack of power steering fluid in the pump. something about being too little or too much air in the pump.

I have this same problem. It started a few weeks ago (My '06 GT was built the second week in August). The first thing I did was check the level in the power steering reservoir. The level was fine.

I took it to the dealership and drove around with the technician. It took almost 20 minutes to reproduce the sound. because it only seems to happen when I turn right and there is a slight incline in the road during the turn (like I hear when I turn into my driveway every day).

At the end of the day, the technician said he could not isolate the noise. I'm just going to have to wait until it gets really bad and take it back again.

I don't lose any power steering when I hear the noise, but it is a bit embarassing to hear the noise when I've got a passenger....

I have had this whine while turning for a long time. I had that TSB done, for the clutch packs, and the sound is STILL there. It drives me crazy. I will have to take it in again and let them see if they can figure out what it is. It seems to do it only once the car has warmed up. And it is worse on wet or really humid days. When the guy drove it before doing the TSB, he was able to hear it as well. I wish someone could figure out what it is...

Mine is in the shop right now as well for this, and they told me the exact same thing about the clutches in the rear end so they have to put new ones in

My '06 GT does this when turning slowly to the left. I have not heard it turning right.

The TSB only mentions 2005. ugh...
