hello everyone im new to this site and im hoping i can get some help. my bought my 05 gt a while back and it had a lean condition on it did a tune up and oil change on it and it went away for a while then came back replaced the coils and maf sensor the second time it came back and it was fine for a while then persisted to come back did some research and digging come to find out it jumped timing. did a timing job on it going by the ford repair manual and now it will only start and run with the maf sensor unplugged if i plug the maf sensor it wont start or run and my radiator fan wont come on either. has anyone else had this issue and found a solution if so please share

Hello and welcome aboard! After reading over the troubleshooting steps you've taken, does your "05" GT have an aftermarket tune and also an off-road exhaust setup? If the answer is yes to either one or both, you may also need to determine if any of your 02 sensors are malfunctioning... If neither applies, you may want to consider checking for vacuum leaks which can also cause a lean condition... Knowing that your car will only start when the MAF sensor is not plugged in, I would suspect and make certain as to whether your MAF sensor is defective or not... The best way to troubleshoot outside of taking your car in for servicing is by connecting a hand-held scanning device tool to your vehicle's OBD II port which will scan your car's ECM for any potential trouble codes... Therefore, I would start there if neither of the troubleshooting steps I suggested, applies here... Meanwhile, let us know if any of the info provided is helpful in any way...

So, if the car will not run while the MAF sensor is installed, but will run when not installed? this leads back to the MAF sensor... Just because you purchased it new, doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't defective... As mentioned before, the best effective way to find out for certain is by connecting a hand-held scanning device to your vehicle's OBD II port for potential trouble codes... Once you see the codes, you will find out exactly what components are causing your lean condition issues by entering the codes on Google!

Then as mentioned below, I would also consider contacting our newest forum member @Sn9582 as he is a Ford technician!
