Runaround Again at Service Dept

I am getting the run around from the service Dept for the second time in 2 weeks, I have only had my car for 6 weeks and it has been at the Ford service center for 10 days. I am looking for help from A ford factory or service Rep. I live in Lansing, Michigan

A week after I took delivery of the car, I had Eiback ProKit installed and New 20" wheels and tires installed. Prior to this the car was fine , drove great. afterwards the steering wheel wiggled back and forth between 40 and 70 mph. The tire company balanced and balanced saying all was well. I then had to take the car in for a leaky Power steering pump( another long story) I asked the dealer to check the balance and he said all was good might be a bad belt on one of the new tires. OK , went back to tire store they swapped tires ,same problem,, Ok I put the factory wheels and and tire on ,same problem. Back to the dealer ,again, now he says the factory tires are so bad he needs to replace them. SO I am going on vacation tommorrow with the aftermarket wheels and tires, then I will go back and have the dealer replace the factory tires( out of stock currently 1 week). Dealer says I need a Steering bumps installed bacuse of lowering kit. YIKES
I am growing hair where it is not suppose to grow because of these people.

Almost sounds like a common problem they all should have looked for. See if the factory retaining clips are still on the wheel studs. The only purpose they serve is to keep the rotors from falling off at the factory. Lots of aftermarket wheels won't clear them and they cause the wheel to not sit flush up against the hub of the wheel, thus throwing off the balance when mounted on the car.

Steering stops would be a good move. As for the tire being bad, just because it is new does not mean it is good.

Who did the install on the Eibach Kit?? Does not sound like a tire issue. First I figured offset, thus Bump Steer. 20"s and tire parameter's, would suggest a bump steer kit. But you say the stocker's still give you the same problem. Maybe one of the Front Springs is not seated, or just simply bad. Did they do the install correctly? Maybe a little fudging on one side versus the other. I'd look in that direction. JMHO

How's your alignment after the spring install?

Usually with lowering springs you cut part of the factory bump stop. I don't know about the Mustang though. That shouldn't affect steering though.

And if your stock tires are the 17"s, they tend to get out of balance and mild flat spotting after sitting(even just overnight) and they smooth out after they warm back up. Stiffer springs accentuate it too.

Waiting for dealer to install new tires , to see if shaking goes away,,, Keep you posted,2 days and they cant change 2 tires
