Right turn signal in turbo mode!

Okay, i go to make a right turn today and my turn signal starts flashing/clicking at a speed that is 2-3 times faster than normal. After my turn I tried the left side and that flashed normal. Tried the right one again, still going fast.

Later on another right turn I turn it on again. Got a few flashes at what seemed to be normal, then it went fast again.

I'm not worried about warrenty or anything. Plenty of time left. Just curious if anyone has seen this happen and what it could be. I assume it's just a relay or whatever does the flashing, but you never know!

You might have a bulb going bad. When I had a bulb go out on the rear it did this until I replaced it. Next time it does it, check and make sure the bulbs are actually flashing front and rear.

Yup, most likely wrong load being sensed by the flasher due to a bulb out.

The owners manual says that it starts blinking at a fast rate to alert you that a bulb is on its way out.

Wow, good to know. I'm used to bulbs going out without a warning then the turn signal just staying ON when using it. I'll have to check and see if something isn't lighting up.

Just ventured out into the dark woods... Yup, there is a bulb out. The middle rear bulb works for the brakes, but is dark for the turn signal. 14K miles and a bulb gone already.

Happened at 26k on my truck and 23k on the wife's Expedition. It always seems to be the flasher filament and not the brakes.

umm, turn and brake should be the same filament- the other is the parking lamp.

check for wet carpet on the passenger footwell by the kickpanel, sure sounds like the smart junction box got wet from a cowl leak - heard a lot of times first indication was taillamps either not working or coming on just sitting there...usually just after rain/washing

Picked up my bulb today. A 2 pack cost me $5.49. Yikes! They were only 3 something at WalMart but they didn't have the right style.

Changed mine out yesterday. Took me about 20 minutes. I little more involved that I expected it to be, but I bet I could do it in less than 10 mins next time.

I haven't done mine yet. Been a bit windy and chilly out, so i'm holding out for a bit of sun and warmth.

I'd suggest checking it again before you change it- if it was due to wet SJB, it may 'fix itself' intermittently...just saying because I'm 99.999% sure the brake/turn are the same filament and the other is for the dimmer parking lamp- if so it still sounds like a SJB issue.

I`ve got the CDC sequential and the turn signal and brake light is out on the rear left side but the front is fine.
The left side dash indicator is rapid fire still.

Yeah, this sounds normal to me. Am I reading something wrong? Replace the left rear bulb that's out and things should go back to normal, right?

Resurrecting this thread, have the same issue on my passenger side. Swapped in a new front signal bulb and the outboard signal bulb in the rear. Still have the problem. I guess I should have taken a closer look at the middle bulb in the rear. Anybody know if it is the same 4057 bulb as the outboard light?

all three in the bulbs in the rear lamps are the same from the factory, even the inboard ones.
