I took my Mustang in to the dealership Monday for them to fix a rattle in the A/C vents at high way speeds around 60+. They have had the car for almost a week and they called me to tell me that they can't find where it's coming from and that Ford is working on fix for this issue. :bang:

Has anyone had this problem? Did you get it fixed?

Mine gets a tinny(sp) not tiny sound from the drivers side vent. I have not taken it in for that yet. Good luck with yours.

I fixed my 03's rattle with a strip of velcro (the softer side) on the inside of the vents so the individual vent slats had some resistance to movement on the bottom.
Still works great after a year and a half, but it's a little bit harder to move the vent slats....

I hope my 06 doesn't rattle, but I have spare velcro ready to go.

I have to be honest... my car does have a few rattles in the cabin. I've fixed a couple with some 3M double-sided foam tape. But, it's just one of those things. My advice is never take a car into the dealer for a rattle. Chances are they won't find/fix it... and may end up making something else rattle by taking things apart and putting them back together. If it bugs you, either roll down the window or turn the radio up. Just my 2 cents.

Completely agree with Ian. I had a rattle in the back and it was taken back 4 times and still not fixed. I'll fix it myself this winter. For now I just turn up the radio.

WIth in 2 months of picking up mine the entire dash rattled, up down left right....the whole thing. I took 12 trips to the dealer for them to fix them all, including replacing the glovebox door and pass airbag. The tech used an entire roll of felt tape on my dash, but now 12,000 miles later I dont have a single rattle.

The problem is it gets really loud even with the radio on I can hear it. Sounds almost like a paint can was put some where in my dash it just rattles around in there louder the faster you go.

I have a girlfriend that lives a 100 miles away so when I'm traving up there it drives me nuts. Hope Ford figures it out .

Just thought maybe you guys had the same problem.

Does anyone else have a rattle coming from the passenger side near where the door and dash meet? It almost sounds like a cable vibrating and it gets louder at highway speeds.

I did! They fixed that one thing at least. Don't know what they repaired but I'll ask them when I pick my car up today.

Look here. I had it, they fixed it, it came back a few weeks ago. Will have to take it in again.

They found the noise. It was the inner fender liner. They replaced it and noise is gone!
