Rattle in the rear driver side at cruise speed ?

Has anyone experienced a rattle in the driver side rear of there 05,06 or 07 GT ?
I notice it on heavy exceleration and cruise sppeds of 55-60. It takes the right combination of RPM to make it happen. I have look underneath the rear for lose wires, tubes, connections and have secured a few but I still have it.
Sounds like it is coming from area around gas fill tube inside lower rear divers quarter.
Any thoughts ?

Take the empties out of the trunk.

sorry bout that, but I had a strange noise too, on occasion. Turns out it was my golf clubs.

Seriously now though.

MY "old" 05, had rattles too, behind the rear seat. Never did find it, but that along with too many TSB's, and the fact that it was a V-6, I got rid of it for a Mach1.

Try driving around with the rear seats folded down while listening for the noise if you haven't done so. If you can get someone else to drive while you lay in the trunk area, you might be able to find it. It is very difficult, not to mention dangerous, to drive and search for rattles. I've used this approach successfully before, especially if the rattle is consistent.

I forgot to mention an old TSB for welds in the rear of the 05 cars. It's possible that a poor weld may be causing the problem, especially if the noise is more of a squeek.

I did the drive around with rear seats down...my son & I took turns listen for noise while the other drove the car that is how I know it is coming from the drivers side rear quarter area. We actualy were laying head first into the trunk trying to find it.

I found my rattle problem to be coming from the rear seat belts on the inner trim panels. Granted mine only rattled from the stereo, not just driving.

I had a similar noise coming from that exact area. I fixed it by reading a post about another rattle on here. The poster said he fixed his noise by tightening the spare tire, so I went off that, well when I was doing that I noicted that after a few turns it would click/rattle so I took the tire out. And seen that the metal rod that goes through the center of the spare is actually a hook that clips (losely) to a loop and there is a space between the hook and the metal in the truck (hense the rattle) so I decided the take some old rag (heck I may need a rag if I am putting on the spare) between the bottom of the hook and the metal. Placed the tire back in and took a ride over the same bumpy road that made the noise happen before and viola! noise gone. Let me know if this helps you guys out, I sure hope it does
