Purchase or not ???

I am looking into purchasing a 2005 Mustang, 4.0, auto, with extremely low miles. My question is since this was the first year for this new body and the 4.0 motor, was it loaded with problems, as many 1st year models are, or would this be a good choice of a car?
Thank you in advance to any and all replies.

i would say its a roll of the dice. First years do have problems but I don't recall the 05 mustang being one of them. I was actually just at CVS looking at Consumer Reports magazine, looking at the different mustang years and the problems they had. The 05 actually looked good. If it's a LOW millage cream puff I would say go for it. I'm sure someone with an 05 will chime in.

I never really heard of many problems with these at all, and I've been following this body style since before they came out. check the car fax and if its clean you should be good to go. How few miles are on it?

My 05 was 7 this past Nov and I've had very few factory related problems. I had the hesitation after a long cruse , but that was a fuel pump problem and once I put the GT500 pumps in that never happened again. Also the instrument cluster module tends to go bad , some of the gauges start reading funny , again the GT500 cluster took care of it. I also had the fuel fill problem a few times early on , but I can't remember the last time it happened. So I feel for a first year car it's been a good one ...
