proper way to change power steering fluid
Hi all, with 50,000 miles on my 07 gt I think it's time to flush the power steering unit. I'm not sure how I should accomplish this feat. Would someone please give me directions on flushing the unit. Thanks

Go to a lube center or dealer that you trust and let them take care of it. It's messy and they'll get rid of the fluid for ya.
Alternately... Here's a video on a way to do it the 'right way':
The simple method, less messy, less complete is thus:
Turkey baster/some form of pump to pull the fluid out of the reservoir. fill with new fluid. Car on, turn the wheels back and forth a few times. Repeat until 2 new quarts have been run through the system. It's not completely flushed, but it'll be pretty good.
I'd just take it somewhere, as I've done the other methods myself... No thanks, I'll be happy to pay for that mess to not be involvin' me.

I was thinking turkey baster as I read your post. Autozone also has a brake bleeder kit with a pump that would work well.... I think. I have never changed out PS fluid unless I was replacing a PS hose. I really don't think there is anything to be gained by swapping out the fluid with the low miles you have on your car.
