Od light flashing

Hello everyone I just bought a 05 mustang gt. I've had it for a month now and my od light started flashing and I am not shifting into fourth gear at all. Didn't have any tranny problems before this. I have straight pipes with roush exhaust and Jbm headers also have KandN Cai. I am taking it in tomorrow to see what it is. Praying for no serious tranny problems. Anything helps thank you.

I've had this problem in another 1996 Ford and it was actually the VSS or vehicle speed sensor that was bad. I replaced it and the car shifted normal again and everything was fine.

But when it was malfunctioning the overdrive light flashed on the gear selector and it wouldn't go above third gear and the vehicle shifted really hard.

Not sure if the same thing but sounds awfully similar.

Do you have the actual code? That would help. If you don't have a code reader, you can get a parts shop to pull them. Or, if you're really interested, I can tell you how to get the codes from the radio.

I took it to my local mechanic and in getting the code for solenoid pack A. I then took it too a reputable tranny shop and they basically said I need a rebuild and priced it at 1800. If I baby it it shifts from 1-3 smoothly but under medium to high acceleration it wacks out

I've never had this issue, but that sounds kinda steep for a solenoid pack unless there's more to it. Which there could be. But Google says only a few hundred for the part.

I'm curious if you ever had clunky/jerky shifting before this failure? Particularly from Park to Reverse.

Nothing clunky but I would here this slight grinding sound when I put in reverse after it sits overnight then it wouldn't do it anymore
