Headlight Switch

The dial for the headlight switch looks identical to the dials for the HVAC system where it has a line which points to the setting when you turn the dial. Well, on the HVAC, that line is backlit at night, same as the control panel itself. Is the headlight switch dial supposed to be backlit too? I mean the actual dial part. Mine is not. The headlight selector panel itself (with the icons for parking lights, headlights, etc) is backlit but not the dial, and it seems a bit odd. I hate to go to the dealer and complain about something that is normal. The car is less than a year old but I can't remember if it was ever lit or not.
