fuel door hinge

my fuel door sticks in a 1/4 of an inch to far. is there any way it can be adjusted so its not in as much. it looks pretty bad cause it throws off the body line on the car

You can remove the entire door and the "hinge" by removing the two screws you you see when you pen the door (one below and one above the hinge). That leaves you with the two pieces of sheet metal that the screws go into. You can adjust the poistion of the door by moving those in or out. I had to do the same with my fuel door. Be careful as those tabs are very thin and if you break them off, there is no replacement.

Should this not be part of the dealerships PDI? I would take it to them to have adjusted.

sweet man thanks..ill give look at it tommorw. if not, i just might wait till i take it in for some other issues that need to be addresed (ie, the paint imperfection and a rattle somewhere in the driver door). im sure i can handle it though. for now it just looks bad

Don't know. I asked the Body Shop at my Dealer and they said that they are not adjustable. He took me in and showed me another Mustang that was apart and it sure did not look like they were adjustable.
OOps I just noticed this was about the fuel door
