fron end clunking noise
fron end clunking noise
Ok i have a clunking noise that show up around my driver side front wheel when i hit sharp bumps or potholes in the road. i replaced the struts and mounts thinking they were the cause but it is still there. i checked the sway bar and there is no play in it. could it be the ball join or tie rod ends doing it? i noticed a tie rod end boo was cracked so i orderd 2 of them. will i need to order a new lower control arm/ball joint?
thanks
thanks
This is an old, and well known problem. I did a search, and here is the link;

For me the noise was both ball joints shot to hell at 58K miles. The FRPP GT500 arms are your best bet. Strut bearings were making noise again too so I threw a fresh set in. Again, FRPP GT500 parts are the ticket here.
This was my 06 GT, not my current ride.
Good luck.
i replaced the strut mounts with GT500 ones and the noise is exactly the same. tomorrow i have new tie rod ends coming in but il check the ball joint and retorque the bolt. i need this noise gone lol for my mental piece of mind
How many miles on the ride? What struts did you add?
97k on it made the noise before i changed the struts. i jacked the car up and took the driver side wheel off last night and it looked like the caliper was moving. The bolts were tight so i tried holding the assmebly together by hand and the caliper stopped moving. i isolated the problem to the end links as they were moving and i can wiggle them and make a banging noise by hand.
