Door handles don't come from the factory painted anymore???
Well, My warranty is up today and I am taking her in Monday to get everything fixed, nothing serious. However they have to keep my car 2-3 days to get the new door handle painted to match. Service rep said they don't come painted anymore
Anyone hear this before???

Probably true if your ordering a replacement but they still come painted on all the cars.

I had my driver's side door handle replaced in July 07, it came in painted to the dealer.. From a previous thread regarding this subject, they apparently have come from the factory painted so something has changed I guess

This is VERY common on ALL parts....when the car is new, every color is stocked and then as time goes on and some colors run out it becomes "paint to match" and it is pot luck for some time until finally there is just one color or unpainted available. Every car manufacturer operates this way.

Well going on day 4 today, looks like one of the techs wasn't happy with one of the moldings they replaced and wanted to do it over. Sounds like my car did not make the priority list, I guess

That could be good news because that would mean they could be revised part as well. When the replaced mine it was painted but the part had the same design flaw, meaning it could fail in a couple of months, years, who knows !
