Dash rattle
I did a search on this but couldn't find anything. I took my car in yesterday for the front end popping TSB and a dash rattle. They did the TSB no problem but now they say my dash rattle might not be covered because of my "after market exhaust". Does anyone heave any experience with this?
Michael, there are about 150/200 pages on the rattle. Use the words"Dash Rattle" for search. I think it is very common and difficult to stay "Fixed" . I have used the "Shim" approach between the panel and pass side door trim to knock it back most of the way. NOTE Go to forum home page for full search mode.
It would almost be easeier to ask who doesn't have one. I remember looking at the dash design in the 05 when I saw it for the first time. After noticing all the hard plastic, I wondered how rattle free it would be. The first one I drove had a rattle coming from the instrument cluster area.

My dash rattled in both corners towards the windshield, there isn't a good way to secure it from underneath so I wedged rubber wedges in on both sides, it fixed the rattle and you can not see them.

Where did you get the rubber wedges... I would like to try this approach.

well the top middle of my dash makes noise, the passenger side rocker pannel @ 3000 RPM's resonates, the center vent cluster pannel makes noise, the driverside part of the dash that you cant get to when the door is closed rattles. I now have 40,000 miles on my car and have about 2"'s of side wall on my tires and lowering springs and live in california. So I figure that its not too bad. I just have to rip apart the dash and dampen anything that makes contact with plastic or metal with a rubber or foam silencing device.
