Chipped Radio Button

The seek button on my Shaker chipped the other day. The small piece of the flat black came off and its just bare white/opaque plastic showing. Can I replace just the button or would I need to replace the whole Shaker unit? Its not a big deal but everytime I look at it it gets on my nerves.

The whole head unit has to be replaced. I'm waiting on the replacement unit to show up at my dealership so they can swap mine out. Same thing happened to me.

Same thing happened to me on the 1 button. It bubbled up and I touched it and the paint chipped off.

Hmmm... mine also (shaker 1000). The left "seek" button has started to glow a lot brighter green now that the black paint from the button is disappearing...

armorall has had probelmss causing fading before but I havent heardd of chipping, It is said to be improved but something like that might be heating up and causing the plastic to chip, there are lights behind the radio buttons, and under your shifter bezel is your transmision, which maybe heating up excessivly due to the armoral, or it could just be the sunlight, through glass heating it

No Armor all here...

No long fingernails here...

No rings or jewelry here...

So I am at a loss to explain my Shaker 1000 chipping... except for crappy plastic!

if I had to place my bet... +1 on the 'quality' of the plastic. Ford had to cut costs somewhere to bring the GT in under $30K

in mrkabc's case I am also plus one but have not heard more on this problem yet so maybe it was only a certain time frame or something, I don't know

Mustang05, I've noticed that the paint around the shifter bezel is starting to peel off a little as well. I am not "abusing" anything at all. I keep the interior spotless and I use Meguairs Quick Interior Detailer to clean when needed. This problem should not be occurring this early on.
