car leans to drivers side

I was looking at my car the other day and noticed that it seems to lean towards the driver side. Like even when it is just sitting there on a flat surface, with no one inside it, it seems like it is leaning about an inch or so down on the drivers side. Am I crazy and obsessing over this car, or are others noticing this as well?

I have not noticed this on my car, but my 98 Ranger definately sits lower on the driver's side than on the passenger side. After looking at several other Rangers, I noticed that this seems to be common with this vehicle. Ford techs. explained to me that it was because of the position of the fuel tank and because of several others things that don't seem to make sense. The Mustang fuel tank straddles the driveshaft, so that shouldn't be a factor. Why a vehicle would be "designed" to sit lower on one side than the other is a mystery to me.

I've noticed my GT seems to lean to the left as well. I've been meaning to get the tape measure out to check for sure.

Springs are sagging on your side based upon that side always being occupied?

Id be really surprised if my it was due to me being in the car. The car only has 8600 miles on it and Im only about 160 lbs. If the springs are sagging due to me driving it then Id be shocked.

I dress left, but my car seems level

Did you actually measure it to the top of the wheel wells on both sides?

You could get one of those 'real dolls' and keep her strapped in the passenger seat 24/7, that or tell everyone you have a Nascar setup

Well, I was curious so I checked my car last night and it is sitting about 3/8" lower on the driver's side-front and back. Nothing was in the car at the time and there is only 3200 miles on the Od. The difference is not really enough to be noticable, but I still have to wonder why it is.
My Ranger on the other hand is sitting about 3/4" lower on the driver's side and that is noticable looking at the rear end.

Eric,
Measure to be sure.

Good story here. Back in 1983 when I had a family, I purchased a brand new off the showroom Buick LeSabre V8 (what a pig). One day, when looking at it from outside the garage, I noticed that the left side was lower than the right side. Got out my tape measure, and sure enough, the left side an inch lower. Took it to the dealer.

Guess what. The right front coil spring was a spring from the Le Sabre Station Wagon. I.E., correct coil spring on left front but wagon spring on right front. Dealer ordered new spring, and corrected the problem.

Yea, great QC back in those days! Also the 5.0 liter V8 had only 140 hp and car could not get out of its own way, (but gave good milage for such a heavy car)

I had noticed that when I had my 05 GT and while it was in for service they noticed the strut was leaking a bit so they replaced it now I think I see the same on my 07 again front passenger side

Yep, the Ranger's sag because the gas tank, battery, and driver all are on the drivers side.

Figure full tank is 120lb-ish
Battery 50?
Average person 180?

350lbs on the driver side when running solo with an empty tank.

Edit: and transfer case is biased to driver side to run front driveshaft. Also my truck is only power driverseat/driver airbag, even more weight just on the driver side.

My dads F-350 sags to the left also. Just needed the torsion bar adjusted to correct it.

I am currently having this problem on my 12 GT. I have checked everything. Would an adjustable pan hard bar solve this issue?

I was think the springs weren't clocked correctly. That will make the car sit funny. I also like Kevins Idea lol
