Better Warranty Coverage on Some 2009 Fords!

The 2009-Model Year New Vehicle Limited Warranty for all Ford and Lincoln Mercury Vehicles remains the same as the 2008 model year, except for the Federal and California Emissions coverage:

For Vehicles Eligible for California Emission Warranty Coverage:
The warranty coverage, include Federal and California Emissions Coverage, remains the same as the 2008 model year.

The 2009-Model Year New Vehicle Limited Warranty for all Ford and Lincoln Mercury Vehicles remains the same as the 2008 model year, except for the Federal and California Emissions coverage:FORD AND MERCURY CARS AND TRUCKS
Federal Emissions Defect Coverage:
- Passenger cars and light duty trucks (applies to vehicles up to 8,500 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)
- 8 years or 80,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for catalytic converters, electronic engine control unit (ECU), transmission control module (TCM), and any other onboard emissions diagnostic module
- 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for all other covered parts*
- Heavy duty vehicles (trucks over 8,500 pounds GVWR up to 19,500 pounds GVWR)
- 5 years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for all covered parts*
- Passenger cars and light duty trucks (vehicles up to 8,500 pounds GVWR)
- 8 years or 80,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for catalytic converters, electronic engine control unit (ECU), transmission control module (TCM), and any other onboard emissions diagnostic module
- 2 years or 24,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for all other covered parts*
- Heavy duty vehicles (trucks over 8,500 pounds GVWR up to 19,500 pounds GVWR)
- 5 years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for all covered parts*
- If Gross Vehicle Weight rating is 14,000 pounds or less
- 3 years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for covered parts* (Emissions Defect coverage), or should the vehicle fail a smog check inspection (Emissions Performance coverage)
- 7 year or 70,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for covered parts* (Emissions Defect coverage)
- If Gross Vehicle Weight rating over 14,000 pounds
- 5 years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for gasoline powered engines and vehicles for covered parts*
- 5 years or 100,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for diesel powered engines and vehicles for covered parts*
- If vehicle is eligible for California Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV) Emissions Warranty Coverage
- 15 years or 150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for covered parts* (Emissions Defect coverage), or if your vehicle fails a Smog Check inspection (Emissions Performance coverage)
- California Emissions warranty coverage applies if your vehicle meets the following two requirements:
- The vehicle is registered in California or other states adopting California emission and warranty regulations, and
- The vehicle is certified for sale in California as indicated on the vehicle emissions control information label
- Other states adopting California emissions and warranty regulation:
- Passenger car and light-duty trucks (up to 8,500 pounds GVWR). Other eligible states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. Note: New York adopted California emissions standards, but not the California Emissions Warranty; the Federal Emissions Control Warranty applies to all non-PZEV vehicles in New York)
- Medium-duty vehicles (over 8,500 pounds GVWR up to 14,000 pounds GVWR). Other eligible states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington
- Diesel engine vehicles (over 14,000 pounds GVWR up to 19,500 pounds GVWR). Other eligible states: Maine, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania
- California Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV) have extended coverage on all emissions related parts*. A vehicle is certified for PZEV if indicated on the VECI label and is registered in California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Vermont.
For Vehicles Eligible for California Emission Warranty Coverage:
- Passenger Car and light-duty trucks (up to 8,500 pounds GVWR)
- 3 years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for covered parts* (Emissions Defect coverage), or should the vehicle fail a smog check inspection (Emissions Performance coverage). Other eligible states: Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington
- 7 year or 70,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for covered parts* (Emissions Defect coverage). Other eligible states; Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington
- 10 year or 150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for the high-voltage battery. Other eligible state: Oregon
- Passenger Car and light-duty trucks (up to 8,500 pounds GVWR)
- 15 years or 150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for covered parts* (Emissions Defect coverage), or if your vehicle fails a Smog Check inspection (Emissions Performance coverage). Other eligible states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
The warranty coverage, include Federal and California Emissions Coverage, remains the same as the 2008 model year.
