2007 Ford Mustang Base - AC Issues

Hi,

I have an issue with my AC for my 2007 Ford Mustang Base Convertible. When I place the AC on, the air only comes out of the defrost vents and not the AC vents (very little air is flowing). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thank you,
Arturo

It is likely a door actuator. They're... relatively... easy to replace. The video below is for a 2010-2014, but it's virtually the same exact thing for 2005-2009s. Please note that the doors themselves could be stuck, so before you put the actuator in, you can check the door to ensure it's working.

In your particular case, it's going to be the defrost door: http://iihs.net/fsm/?d=336&f=Mode%20...ost%20Door.pdf
Other doors are:
Air Temperature Door (outside or inside recirculating): http://iihs.net/fsm/?d=336&f=Mode%20...let%20Door.pdf
Panel/Floor Door: http://iihs.net/fsm/?d=336&f=Mode%20...oor%20Door.pdf
Temperature Blend Door: http://iihs.net/fsm/?d=336&f=Tempera...20Actuator.pdf

Hope that helps!

For sure. My father is a retired mechanic and he will be assisting me with this. Will notify you.

Thank you.

Hello,

By any chance, do you know where I can locate a PDF file or link for an extended view/diagram of the 2007 Ford Mustang's AC/heating system. Your help is truly appreciated yet again.

Thank you,
Art

All the information you need can be ferreted out in the manual link I gave you earlier.

For example, the air duct plenum:
http://iihs.net/fsm/?d=336&f=Plenum%20Chamber.pdf

Or the entire box (as the heater and evaporator cores are not... necessarily... sold separately, the entire dang thing has to be swapped out if one or the other is messed up. Great design, eh?)
http://iihs.net/fsm/?d=336&f=Heater%...%20Housing.pdf

The sections listed on the left will get you to the pieces you want regarding most HVAC items. If you need others, you can go to the top and look about:
http://iihs.net/fsm/?d=1

The only thing is that there's no great index, so you'll sort of have to guess at where it might be sometimes. But it's all there.
