A Good Sampling of The Door Panel Insert Issue Repair Topics.
I Like the First One Only Thing I Would add is After The Rolling Off of the Dried Up Foam I Would Go Over With a Cotton Ball with Denatured Alcohol on Both Door Panel & Upholstory Panel. I Would Also Let Dry Overnight before Using Adhesive. Also I Found it Much Easier To Work With The Panel Removed From Door! I Was Fortunate with My Shelby I Never Used Any Trim Chemicals on My Panels So I Did Not Have to Contend with a Silicone or Whatever Chemical Making the Bond More Difficult. It Took Three Times To Get it Figured Out. The Sprays Would Not Work. I Did Not Use The Contact Cement as Shown But Used Gorilla All Purpose Glue and a Lot of Rubber Gloved Massaging into The Panel.
Here is Another Tip. If You get a Pesky Air Bubble Stick a Needle in a Few Perforation Holes to add a Vent.In The Event any Glue Comes Through, Unlikely Unless you Really Slathered it on have Some Denatured Alcohol & a Cotton Ball or Terri Cloth on Stand By. Works For Adhesive on Door Panel as Well if You get Right on It! Worked for Me!

Nice find! After reading over the thread links posted, I found the Weldwood contact cement method and upholstery shop method with tweed material as the most effective options IMHO,

They did, but only if you opted for the deluxe, non-premium package... Had I known about the vinyl inserts peeling off prior to purchasing the 2005-09 premium options, I would've gone with the deluxe option instead.
Ironically The Other Leather Package With the Console Lid & Stitched Dash Held Up Just Fine! Also Upgraded Door Armrests! Funny Thing This Package Never Shows Up in KBB. At Least Not Last Time I Looked! Gotta Be Worth Something!
I Know I Have It! So Few Options Available I Had To Get All I Could!
Sold The Heck out Of the Console Lids Back in The Day!
GT 500 Premium Interior Trim Package (incl.

rearview mirror w/compass & aluminum pedals.
When Choosing Inserts Get Some Good Ones as Cheap Crappy Ones Will Go Bad Just Like Original Insert! Go For Brand Name! Coverlay is Likely a Good Item! Especially in Very COLD or VERY Hot Area's!
I saw the Coverlay ABS plastic insert replacement but chose to go with Dashskin instead because they shipped a pair to me right away and I would have had to wait for Coverlay's made to order. Both companies appear to have good quality products. Dashskin was also less expensive. BYW, I'd get either Dashskin or Coverlay because they're made in Oklahoma and Texas respectively. Yes, made in the U.S.A. They come in colors. I got red to go with Mustang's redfire exterior.

@Mustang_Ed
Did you experience any fitment issues with some of the corners not staying in place? I saw several YouTube videos where a couple of corner sections would keep popping off....The fitment issues shown in the videos were directly with the Coverlay inserts, so I'm not sure if the Coverlay and Dashkin inserts are designed in the same way or if there's a difference between them...
Also, did you remove the felt backing material that's glued directly to the door panel or did you keep those on?

I had Joey Webber, Fibrenew, in Chico, Ca. do this for me. Fibrenew specializes in the repair, restoration, and renewal of leather, vinyl and plastic. Joey is a mobile service. He had no fitment issues telling me it was easy. Joey made an arrangement to have a friend of his who works at a local auto dealership remove the door panels for him, so it was easier for Joey to install the Dashkin inserts. Then the door panels were put back on the doors. Yes, he removed the felt backing material that's glued directly to the door panel. This part of the job took more time and effort. Something I really appreciated is that I was able to order red inserts from Dashkin. The job was completed in one day and went off without a hitch. I just dropped off my Mustang for Joey's friend to remove the door panels. Joey and his friend coordinated the job from there. I don't believe this requires extraordinary technical ability. Good luck! I hope you have excellent results.

@Mustang_Ed Is this the felt backing material that was removed? I've attached 2 pics of my doors which still have the felt backing material attached directly to the door panels...

@Mustang_Ed Thank you very much for responding back, as it's much appreciated... In the meantime, I'm very familiar with all the YouTube video links that you attached, as I've been researching the pros vs cons over removing or keeping the felt backing material in place prior to installing either the Coverlays or Dashkins... According to both the Dashkin and Coverlay websites, for some reason they recommend against peeling off the felt backing material and just thoroughly removing the old glue from the backing material prior to installing their ABS inserts... However, when I see these YouTube videos and look at some of the fitment issues regarding the Coverlays not staying in place in either one or two sections in the corners, this is when I often think to myself as to whether the fitment issues are related to leaving the felt backing material in place or if there's a design flaw within the Coverlays or Dashkins themselves? As a matter of fact, I saw one YouTube video in which I saw someone having to cut a slit in his Coverlays just in order for the corners to stay put in place... Meanwhile, I've attached the YouTube video link for you to check out to see for yourself, if curious...
Once again, thank you for responding back and look forward towards your thoughts and opinions regarding the pros vs cons over leaving the felt backing material in place or recommend removing it...
