05 gt won't start

car cranks just like normal, no funny noises, has fuel pressure.(* i assume because the fuel pump kicks on)

but the car wont start. my dummy light for the theft security blinks when I crank the car..

any ideas????

I'm pretty sure that I'm the second owner of the car and it only has 31,015 miles and was built in 04/05

So would this be covered by warranty?

The warranty starts the day the car is sold, not built. Either way, it will still be under warranty because it has not been 3 years since it was built. Check the owners manual, there was some info on the anti-theft system and that light blinking. I can't remember what it meant though right now.

no its actually on the left side in the footwell , on the drivers side. There is a little indent there and the switch is inside.

well they said its not bringing up ANY codes in the computer other then an out of range temperature for the coolant.

although the car does have good fuel pressure.

but they said this wouldnt cause it not to start.

I guess the plugs in the car were completely carbon'd over with only 31015 miles on it

they broke off spark plugs in both heads, but i guess all the plugs that came out were cracked, and carbon'd up
so that seems to be the problem ( or so they like to think it is)

arent our plugs supposed to be good till 100k??

if not, i may have mine changed out at like 30k or so, so they dont break them off later on

i thought they were good for a ridiculous amount of time..

but.. still at 30k they are carbon'd up enough for the car not to run.. ?!? hell i dunno

100K change interval. I was thinking about having mine changed soon, I even bought some new plugs in anticipation. Now I'm thinking I might wait it out, since I have 60K miles on them already. I'm thinking that I have a really good chance of the dealer breaking at least one plug, and they flat out told me that I would be paying labor on whatever they had to do to remove the broken plugs.

I'm having no issues with the plugs so far, everything is great...I might wait until 100K and then have them changed. At least then I can say I did exactly what was in the manual.

if you do whats in the manual and they break them, isnt it their fault???

you should not have to pay for broken plugs installed by ford and serviced by ford within the correct service interval

That's what I think too. I can only hope that I can find a dealer that thinks the same way as me.

TSB for Spark Plugs

There is a Ford TSB 08-1-9 for removing the plugs. The dealer should know this and follow the procedure. If he breaks them, he buys them.

See this thread:

Hope this is helpful

well i got my car back.. FINALLY

ended up they

just busted the rest of the porceilin out of the plugs, then tapped them with a left hand tap, and backed them out. put new ones in. and that fixed it

same technique used on the 5.4l motors
