trying to start up a modern muscle car club

Its getting pretty boring around this area.. no one EVER does anything anymore. Been wanting to do this for a good while.. and started out as maybe a SVT or mustang thing.. but i think ive decided to do it as a all modern muscle car deal. So yeah.. im trying to start up a all modern muscle car club. Just something for us folks to all get together BS about our cars.. have fun safe get togethers.. race days at the strip, cruises, car shows, cook outs, mod parties.. all that good stuff. It would consist of folks from north alabama, southern TN, and eastern mississippi. Ive set up a small yahoo page for anyone intrested in joining up with me. I think this could really be a nice club if we got enough folks! I haven't done much yet..but you can check it out and join if you wanna. If you know of any cars in your area i hve a flyer made up you can print off and give to em also. But heres a link.. lemme know what you guys think!!

What about newer Muscle Trucks? Would they be welcome?

On a semi related note...there are cruise-ins every Saturday night in the area. I assume most folks dont know about them. Perhaps your club could help promote them. Just a thought.

BTW, I recieved the show information from Marsha and Chip. If you run into them at any of the shows please remember to thank them for their efforts to keep track of and pass on show information. They do a great job of helping keep the cruise scene going!

well on mustangs I think most people think of the 96+ cars as the modulars or modern muscle cars. But to me.. if you have a ECU in your car thats modern lol Fuel injection and computers set the muscle car apart.. either ya love them or you hate them! As far as chevys go i have no clue about them.. im not too up to date on em.

Modern muscle trucks would be perfectly fine also! A lot of people are souping them up as well!

And on the yahoo site i posted im adding car shows and cruise in's in the general areas for folks to attend.

I don't know if I completely agree with your statement that nobody does anything anymore.

In the past few weeks I've had the chance to witness or assist in some bolt on suspension stuff, paint and bodywork (on a van but still, you can learn from it........(like that tractor paint is cheap) rebuilding a diff and installing gears, January Thaw car show, Phil and John did the dragway, Mark and I, along with Eric went to Road Atlanta......

Maybe the idea of "build it and they will come", should be changed to "Plan it and they will come, or ask and they will come".

Do what you will and I wish you the best in it.

You also might want to consider the reality that all groups have a core membership that drives everythng. The few who really put forth effort for the cause. The others whom even bother to participate are mainly along for the ride. (which is what I feel I am at this point) Even more won't even bother to participate from the get-go.

Again, Good luck in your efforts.

Car Club

I HEAR there is a pretty good Mustang club in the Huntsville area that has existed 28 years. The Mustangs that people own range from a 1964.5 to a 2007. They are always having some kind of activity and quite often a member will have kind of a "work party" of a sort. You might give them a try.
