Reminder: Rocket City Mustang Club monthly meeting

It's that time again.....3rd Tuesday of the month......RCMC meeting, 15 July, 7pm, West End Grill. Yes, the 15th is a strange 3rd Tuesday, but it's one of those weird 5 week months.

As usual, we'll discuss club-related activities including upcoming events. Several great things have happened since we last met, and we have some wonderful club events planned. Don't forget to wear your club shirt and/or drive your Mustang for a chance at $$$$, and we'll have our trivia contest too. Seats are limited so consider coming a bit early and enjoy food/drink/friendship.

Don't forget that the August meeting will be officer elections....be there or be elected...just kidding

Have you tried Doc Patten Carburetors? It's that shop I mentioned.

I don't need to now. I have a Holley 1v coming tomorrow.

I won't be at the meeting tonight. My carb finally killed itself at a four way stop. So the mustang is not driveable until tomorrow afternoon.

Does anybody still get email reminders for the meeting?

I must have gotten dropped off the email list - I have not gotten an email this year - so I have not been to a single meeting.
I always think about it the next day or the week after...................
I am sure somebody would still take my dues $$$$$$$$$

So.........
Does everybody else get monthly reminder emails, or is my AKO blocking them?

Pardon, but who are you (name)?

The mailing list is based on RCMC membership. Only active members receive e-mails because they often have club-only info and should not be available to everyone (like the forum here does). Up through March, I used both the 2007 and 08 members and then resolved to only the 2008 current/active members. To date, no person's e-mail addy is getting "kicked back". The official roster includes typical info and also has e-mail addresses. It does not have Forum user-ID's (not everyone uses the Forum).....so identifying a specific person based on their ID here is chance.

We continue to add new members (just added 2 this month). That info is added to the roster and also the e-mail list.

Hope that helps....you can see the rocketcitymustang.com website and all the tabs for more info. As you mentioned, you know when the meetings are. As a courtesy, we send out reminders via e-mail but it also gets posted in the forum. Don't know how to make it more available than that.

p.s. If you are using AKO, it can block but currently no one's e-mail gets kicked back. Some of last year's members kept getting kicked back but they were using company e-mail addys that filtered our RCMC msgs as spam or group mailings. Not my fault, and we can't resolve that unless the person works with us to resolve it on their end.

Beri, I checked the 2007 and 2008 member roster and was not renewed this year. Consider renewing ($12/year) to be able and participate in club-only events (parties, parades, shows, etc.) and ensure you get e-mails/newsletter/etc.

Hey Beri! Good to see you at the RCMC show! Ken
Was there a meeting this week? If the Prez would drive his POS out every now and then I might remember. Didn't we just have one a month or so ago? kennyg

Are you staying busy?

Hey Ken!
How about sending me a *free* email reminder before the next meeting!

I realized there were extra Tuesdays, but too late - plus the newsletter on the web page says the meeting was on the 22nd of July.
I also missed the trip to Lynchburg this weekend.

I need to get back on an email distribution list so I can stay plugged in.

The newsletter was posted on the website before the mistake (22 July) was found. I sent an e-mail to RCMC members to correct the mistake. That was followed up by the typical courtesy reminder since many members scan/post on the forum...it also showed the correct date.

The cruise was a member only event. Similar events don't get posted here for the same reason....club only. I stated before that you aren't an active 2008 member. Active members also get numerous e-mails regarding club activities, etc. Also again, while non-members are welcome to attend a meeting, the intent is to give potential members insight to what we do and hope they join.

I'm glad you apparently enjoy the website and it's offerings (newsletter, calendar, etc.), as well as the forum but the insinuation that we need to post more info and/or e-mail everybody including former members just isn't fair to the 69 members plus 47 spouses plus children equalling nearly 200 total RCMC members.

A lot of folks look at membership dues in the wrong way. $12 is simply one dollar a month. Even acummulative it doesn't really defer club operating costs. It is however a commitment. It's your way of saying you want to belong to something bigger and in return, the club offers many opportunities, events, etc. to share with other similar committed Mustang fans.

Cool Thanks - I'm done.....

No problem - all I was asking for was an email reminder for two or three months into the year so I could make it to a meeting to pay dues.

Seems like to me that there is more of an effort to delete people on a current list in January - sorry to be a pain, but in the future you may want to keep people on the email distribution for three months like we used to do so they can make it to a meeting to pay dues.

My $.02

If you received e-mails thru December then you should have also received e-mails thru 1 April which is when the joint 07-08 list was narrowed to just 08. If you did not receive any e-mails since last August (07), it would be a rare instant and a simply an oversight. The e-mail list was inherited from the past administration and only a few glitches (unable to send, non-deliverable, etc) occurred. Dues have always been due at the first of the year which takes about 3 months to get everyone to do. The next few months (April-June) handles the majority of new members and a few late members. A simple e-mail, coming to a meeting which have always been the 3rd Tues/month, or even mentioning it at the May show which you apparently were at would have solved your issue soonest; however, we're almost in August and now you make this a full-blown, my fault problem?
