RCMC Dyno Day

ok guys, with all the talk of dyno's and NAWWWZZZZ() i would like to get a dyno day set up for the RCMC, but i need to know how much intrest there would be in this. I know i would love to get dynoed again, maybe we could do a couple 1/4 mile dyno runs as well.

BUT first i need to know how much interest there is to justify Dyno time

I'm in as long as I don't have to work. I'm interested in knowing what this sled is making HP wise.

Definately not under $10. Last time I saw something about a dyno they were charging $40.

It sure would help me sleep at night if I knew that little kid was unable to reproduce. Seems dad has known sis a little too much in his family already.

You have already told us about this. We don't care if you think it is a waste of money. I bet that dyno online doesn't even work right with an beginner.

What shop are you talking about doing this at? I'm interested, but I've got an X3 on order and would want to upload a new tune before I go.

And to the NOS kiddie $40 is super cheap for a run on a calibrated dyno. I'm sure the little program that you linked is just a simple calculator where you input your cars engine type/bolt ons/etc, and gives you a guesstimate of what your HP/TQ is going to be. Dynos give you actual real world results, they can give you an indication if something is wrong by your numbers being down, give you an easy and accurate A/F ratio reading to make sure your tune is good. I hope one day I find you on the road and put you in your place. I'll know you're coming by your red calapers.

i was going to call Robert at Static -X, they've got the best Dyno for several hundred miles....it's like a mustang dyno in the sense that its a loaded dyno....for those that dont know the mustang dyno's are far more accurate b/c they apply resistance to the tire just like the road would be applying resistance.

All fear the power of my 86GT. I have the coveted fuzzy dice upgrade, so you KNOW that adds at least 40 hp. Just wait until I put on all the random stickers on my car. To be honest, considering the anemic power level of my car, it would be a waste for me spend the money to dyno it. It would be cool to dyno my truck though, I'm curious to see how much RWHP it puts out.

Someone was going to ask if they could do custom tunes with a SCT. What did you find out?

Dyno Day is a great CLUB event idea. USMCRebel appears to be leading this issue, so keep us informed. I'm not too thrilled that everybody who has a Mustang just shows up and is not an RCMC member. Might want to take this issue to club e-mail to weed out the non-member-under $10-NOS-dudes.

I have never done a dyno before. Do you start out at like 3rd gear and then slowly pick up speed? Or do you start out at 1st gear?
