Is that legal?

I mean, if ppl are going to rag on NOSStang or whoever, for talking about street racing and such, we should keep it all above board here. Methinks.

Why not apply for a replacement title? Ppl lose titles all the time.

Replacement title forms are available at the courthouse and some satellite offices. It's a simple process IF you had already put the Mustang in your name. You will need the VIN and the person whos name the title is in must request the replacement. The form will have to be notorized, but most offices have a notary. One last thing, a small donation to the state will be required! If a title needs replaced due to writing on the wrong line or unnecessary scribbling while buying or selling the vehicle, both parties must sign in front of a notary. Good luck, don't wait until the end of the month as the lines are usually long. kennyg

hey dudes,

lay off Bluesnake. she has a legit car just doesnt have a title. its not like shes stealing anything. its just paperwork.

it's no big deal to change a title on a car. a cars a car and if they don't like it than screw them.

BTW, Bluesnake i love your car.

we sure have a lot of fuddy duddys around here. geez

It's called a rebody. It's illegal, unethical, wrong, stupid, etc. Any more questions?

Seriously dude, you need to get a life.

If a car doesnt have a title, then its really hard to do anything with it. However what Im confused about is when I bought my 68, the state said that cars that old dont have titles????? I even paid a title fee to Jeff Sikes Mazda which is where I bought it from.

Your dad bought it not you... You were there to witness it(1 has to be 18 to buy a car). Yeah cars over 25 I think don't have to have a title, just a bill of sale.

What really sucks is I wasn't there to witness my car being bought. I just saw my bank account drop big time.

State of Alabama Title Laws started with the 1975 models. All 1975 and newer vehicles must have a title in Alabama. Utility trailers, car trailers, campers, etc., have them too. Withing the last 5 years the law changed on single axle trailers and some no longer require a title. kennyg

the cars leget. 100% mine i just never did sign the the title or anything cause i was working on it at the time.
pauls drove it a few times and now that its time to register it ect we cant find the title anywhere.

annnd i was just gonna rework my dads 351 for it or just swap over all the drive train since its its perfect for DD. I would never chop a car and try and build a fake title...thats just so wrong.

btw sorry took so long for me to answer ive been in the hospital with a dog bite i got that ended up severly infected and painful!

you have 2 options, #1 do a lien sale on the vehicle for storage dmv will help, problem is they will try to contact the previous owner to check..

#2 get p.o. to do get a replacement title,

remember that car has like 9 places the title is stamped and if for whatever reason the parts do not match they can look into in and would ask questions anyways!

You can use a title company if the car is more than 10 years old and is of course not stolen. The fee is about $250 and a much easier solution . Look in any issue of Hemmings Motor News...a few advertise there or just search the web .
