My family could use some prayer...
Three years ago, my step-mom found out she had breast cancer. She had to undergo a lot of chemotherapy as well as a double masectomy to get rid of it. She has lived the past two years cancer free.
Well, about a month ago she woke up with something like a crick in her neck. She hasn't been able to move her neck at all and after seeing doctor after doctor everyone was stumped. She decided on a whim to go visit her old cancer doctor. They had to go yesterday morning before coming up here and found that she has bone cancer.
It's in her neck, lower back, shoulders, and about 10-12 other places as well. She isn't in great spirits, but she is better than I expected.
The doctor talked to dad though, and told him even though he is going to hit it with everything he possibly can, he knows he can't get rid of it. So the outlook is grim to say the least.
Dad is pretty tore up about it. He has had a hard life when it comes to wives and about 8 years ago he finally found her. If there can be something like soul mates, he found his. And after 8 years of complete happiness they get the bomb dropped on them. I don't think the doctor told her the severity of it yet, but he did tell my dad.
So on the weekend of my son's 1st birthday, she finds out she could very well die from this cancer. I'm not a praying person by any means, but I'd do anything in the world to stop this from happening.
Please pray for my stepmom. She's always been a great mom to her kids as well as the greatest mom to me. She also serves our country proud as a Navy officer and she is also a dental hygenist.
Thanks for reading my novel.
We went out to the Point Mallard car show today though to get us out of the house and she was thrilled with some of the Stangs out there. I got some pics and told her I thought some might belong to the members here.... She really enjoyed that though, so that was something to make her feel better.

Hi Nick,
Bud, if anyone knows what you're going through it's me. I lost my younger brother on Jan. 1,2000, then my father in Oct. of '04, my older brother last month and Deb(my wife) found out last Oct. that she has cancer, although hers seems to be in remission. All I can tell you is trust in the LORD and trust in prayer. Also know that the folks on this message board will pray for you and your family. Here's hoping you stepmother beats this.

Good luck, my prayers are with you. My mom has been fighting Lung cancer for about a year now, in Jan, they gave her 2 days to two weeks, put her in hospice, she is still kicking today and planing her 69 birthday next month. It is a hard road, but take all the time you can to be with her while you can. It will not be there later. We have prepared for the worst and hoped for the best, so far it has been the best of the two.
A lot of people take others for granted, you now have the chance to be with, laugh, live, love, cry and hope with this person, many people do not have this chance or do not take the time to do so.
God bless.
anything I can do for you PM me. please.

thoughts and prayers are with your mom and the family!
My fiance's mother is a breast cancer survivor. She had a double masectomy also and chemo also. A lot of amazing things can happen with the medicines they have. For 4 years now shes been cancer free thank god.
I completely understand how you guys feel. Paul lost a close cousin of his not long ago to cancer. I didn't even know him but it was painful to see him so distraught over it. My mother was diagnosed with kidney failure 7 years ago. That was a rough go at it for me. I was afraid every day could be her last. She got a transplant last year and she is still recovering from it. But just remember no matter WHAT the docs say a person is always stronger than the disease. Please wish your mom and family our well wishes!
