A 289 out of a '68 Mach 1? Last time I checked they didn't start building Mach 1's until 69, and they darn sure didn't have 289s in them. Did ford even use the 289 in the Mustang after 67? Some people make me laugh, the best part is that the car says Turbo in the title listing. I guess thats because it looks to have a the Turbo hoodscoop off a 79 turbo car, mounted to a 85/86 hood.

You are right, kennyg, I have a friend here locally that has an original C-Code 289 '68 California Special that his mom bought new.

 

My first car was a 68 Sunlit Gold C code 289 2bbl coupe. Midyear, they came out with 302 2bbl and 302 4bbl and discontinued 289 line, along with the hipo.

Good news, is they also introduced the 428 Cobra Jet at the same time.

 

well whatever engine it has, you don't get a look at it...only the spray painted dash piece (I didn't check the calapers) so it makes you wonder what condition that is in
