Gonna build a trackcar
04-07
I decided to play with the car a little and see if I could get it running. I bought a new battery for the Bullitt and stuck its battery in the Z. Ran a new negative battery cable and fabricated a chassis ground. Car didn't respond at all. Disassembled the ignition switch, which was sticky and cleaned it up. Fabricated some jumpers to take the place of the fusible links that were toast, and rewired the power wires for the vintage ECU. Finally got the engine to rotate, but still wouldn't start. Checked spark, and had none. Found more wiring hacks at the distributor and replaced the duct tape joints with proper splices. Now I have spark, but still no combustion. Added 3 gallons of gas, but nothing. Pulled a fuel hose and found it completely dry. Found the electric fuel pump and ran a jumper to it, but it won't operate. Looks like I have a bad electric fuel pump or it's full of junk.
Met a local Z expert that came over and gave me plenty of tips and advise. I'm starting to think I have a long road ahead of me just to get this thing on the road. But I don't have much money in it, so I'll just take my time and go through it as I can.

I might have a small test electric external pump you can borrow to see if it will run. How much psi are you looking for? I think this one is 3-4 psi regulated. I will look for it tonight and see if I can find it.
Hey, I've still got that elec pump that you can have. It's a inline pump that comes with the Vortech kits.
I don't know what the flow rate is, it may not be enough. I can get the part # for you in the a.m.
