Drone
Do not get me wrong, I LOVE the Mustang drone! I currently have a 2007 GT Convertible. I put Mac axle back exhaust on it during the summer. When the top is down, the drone does not bother me at all. Unfortunately, with the top up, it is bad, especially when the car is cold. Is there an after market exhaust that I can put on it that is aggressive sounding without the gnawing drone at 55 mph. Could the Mac somehow be modified? The hubby talked about putting Dynomat in the trunk. Would that help??? Thanks!
The Roush Extreme Exhaust has no drone at all, and is still awesome sounding. I can't put it on my Roush due to the exhaust tips. Any exhaust that has the mufflers after the rear axle is going to have trouble reducing drone and not sounding raspy. I'm putting Dynomax 18" Race Bullets on my car and removing the Roush Borla after axle exhaust. The bullets will go in a mid muffler configuration after the H-pipe about a foot. They are technically resonators, and I'm removing the rear mufflers for straight pipes. This is the exact same configuration as the Roush Extreme exhaust. If you just want to eliminate the drone and leave the rear mufflers, you could add the any inline resonator after the H-pip under the car to eliminate it without losing hardly any horsepower.
Dynomat won't really help too much.

Yeah, I know, but I'd have to cut up a $500 exhaust for $100 worth of resonators. That's why I'm going with the bullets. I found the company that makes the resonators for Roush, but I don't think I can buy them directly from them. It should sound close.

I actually do that when I have a bad headache and it goes away. Is it safe to cut it on and off? Any opinions on Pypes muffler delete? Right now I have axle back but I am also looking at cat back.
someone even mentioned getting an exhaust coated with something to reduce the drone,
but i think just dynamat would improve it alot,
another option would be to get some small baffles welded into your exhaust, but that would get expensive quick
the last and most comon sense article i read was installing glass packs between the x/h pipe and the mufflers, it makes the exhaust tumble and creates less harminic vibration.

deadener
you could get somy sound deadener, i know most of the drone comes from vibrations,
