Continuing this from another thread:
Back in the late '70s I used to ride my bike all over Huntsville looking for cars in backyards, driveways, carports, etc. There was a certain house over on Bayless in Holiday Homes that was the Holy Grail when it came to hi-po Mustangs. Here is a pic of one car that I saw in the driveway:

I also saw this one there from time to time (although this pic was taken at Point Mallard):

Dan, do you remember this house?

Sure do Mike, that's where I grew up. I recall you came to visit occassionally.
PS A 1969 Boss 302 in C. Coral with black interior is the best looking Ford street car ever in my opinion. For race car it would be the 1966 version of the GT40 race coupe. (Found out recently there was a GT40 MKII in Mud Tavern (out side of Decatur) 1982-83.)
PSPS I didn't know where to look you up last Saturday but I drove the old black car around Huntsville between around 8:30 and 10:00. I didn't see much in the way of 1960s Fords at the Sears lot so I just went off doing errands around 10:00.

I remember '69 Boss just like that one for sale at Bill Penny Olds back behind where Woody Anderson use to be. At the time they wanted $2500 for it and that was too rich for me. I also remember Dan's '70 Boss 429 and getting a ride in it. What a car!
Mike,
I used to see Steve pretty regularly in the building I work in, but it's been about a year since I've seen him. I haven't forgotten about checking for you, I always look for him at the car shows I go to. I'll find him eventually, hopefully he'll remember the name of the people he sold the car to. If I remember correctly, he told me the car was in Madison, and was being restored...hated to hear that last part, that car should have been left like it was, except for the drive train, that did need a rebuild.

That's it. It was a nice car. I sold it back to its original owner at one of the first RCMC shows.

PS
Still building engines? I haven't done the engine for the red car yet but I have just about rounded up the necessary factory parts. Wondered it you would be interested in building it up.
Drove it to work ?
Dan is that the Mustang you drove to work when you Managed the Aquatic Club in the early "70's ? We were still riding bikes at the time and a lot of bikes passed by your Mustang everyday in the summer. I never heard of any stories of someone getting choked for scratching your car...

A variety of cars carried me to work. 1931 Ford Model A truck, 1970 Boss 302, and a 1970 Boss 429.

Hi Dan,
I hadn't done any engines in many years until recently, the '66 coupe I bought from Bill Newton needed going through. Felt like old home week building that 289, and it actually ran okay when I finished it. My son has me knee deep in his Mustang, we're building a stroked 302 for his '94 GT. I bought a Motorsport R-302 block, a CHP steel 3.25" stroker crank and H-beam rods, Probe forged pistons, Edelbrock Victor aluminum heads, and a Procharger D-1 supercharger for it.The block is delivered undersize, so we are going to bore it to standard size, it will be 327 cubic inches...hope that number doesn't jinx it! I think it will find the weakest parts in his T-5 transmission for sure. I'd be glad to help you with your engine, but I really don't think you need me, as knowledgeable on Ford engines as you are, I know you can build it better than I could! I still intend to make it over to your place sometime to see the Mondello heads and your red Cobra, I don't think I've seen your black car in probably 20 years...

Jan,
Your welcome to come over any time. I have ended up with more ex-works matched serial numbered C6FE heads.
I was driving around Huntsville in the black car last Saturday but never stayed one place long.
Dan
Here's a link to the images and descriptions of the cars on another forum if your interested.

Sucks my dad sold our 69 fastback about 5 years ago for $5,000 decent body, fully resored interior, good running motor. Ive been sick over that one since the day I watched the guy drive off in it...Its somewhere in colbert co "on the mountain" as they call it im not too sure where. Ive seen it 1 time since we sold it and I was immideately heartbroken!!
Its strange though.. the first mustangs I can remember seeing on a lot new was the 94 GTs. lol Yeah yeah Im a young un! And the first newer stang I ever really drooled over happens to be a member on here. Kris (forcefed93) if it wasnt for you and that car I probably would have NEVER gotten into mustangs!!
