Body Work

Well since my first thread got deleted in the crash I thought I would put up another.

I am almost done with the body work. Got to sand down passenger side fender more, bondo at dent, and fill in 2 more small holes. Then it will be ready to prime.

Picked up a 2k primer kit that consists of 1 gallon of 2k and 1 can of hardener for $60. Hopefully the weather will cooperate sometime soon and let me prime it so I can drive it. I am going crazy not being able to drive it.

90 pics so far of body work. First 4 pages and then there are 3 pics on the 5th page. For some reason it didn't put them in a new folder like it was supposed to.

Hope to be driving it this weekend. Looks like it will get primer tomorrow and then reassembly Thursday night and Saturday after work.

Also I'm looking for a set of rims that will fit my 67. Would like to trade my cragars for them since they are the only rims I have right now(can't sell and look for others since I will have no rims to put on). If anyone is interested let me know.

I haven't yet. Most likely will this weekend. Still have to order the door skin. I probably won't have anything done until after the 10th though.

Anyone on here know if a 315 tire will fit in the rear wheel wells of my 67? That is the tire I plan on running if it will fit.

it will if you have the right size wheel with the right size offset

if your still planning to run the inline 6 i wouldn't go with too wide of a tire, it will creat additional drag and weight(rolling mass)

i have 275/35/17's on my 67 i have about 1.5 inches left on the inside of the wheel well, but i did cut the tabs for the bump stop.

I'm running the 6 until the beginning of April or so. Got to save up for the V8 and other related parts needed to swap over.

Wonder how slow it would be with those tires.

What size rim are you running on the back and what backspacing?

its not so much of a slow thing as stalling it getting it going, and lower mpg

my rim is 9.5 inch wide with 5.75 backspacing. but remember i have flaired fenders and i still rub a little you would need a 10" rim with about a 6.75-7.25 in b/s

I'm going to get 17x10.5 for the rear and I believe they have a 6.8" bs.

Yeah once they tell me the bs I will measure everything. I know I will have to cut the bump stop to make them fit.

you need to consider a few other things

suspension travel when you hit a dip will it rub.

will it rub when you go into a driveway

will it rub on hard turns

i thought i took this into consideration.

i rub with my current setup,

just the weight of the car is not enough you need to figure on worst case scenario

It will need new leafs and coil springs. My 16s rubbed, but I didn't have low profile tires on them. The backspacing was also wrong on them.

Found me a 351 in TN. If he sells it by December I might be interested in the one you have if you sell it.

Ordered parts this morning before I went to work.

Ordered new passenger door, new door hinge spring, new regulators/rollers for the driver side , back up light pads, stainless steel lock grommets, new grille molding clips, and service specification decal. Total $300.42(free shipping over $300) then an additional $19.95 for the door shipping(extra) = $320.37.
