An old buddy was given a free beater by his mom (an early 80's Daihatsu) - I mean,l a real piece of work - he was so ashamed. I presented an idea... we bought some black spray automotive paint, drove to an abandoned bank, masked and proceeded to spray. We came back an hour later, and it didn't look bad at all. I offered one more idea: we bought two cans of School Bus Yellow and threw Le mans stripes from bumper to bumper. Not to shabby - didn't last a year, though.
