2007 Crow Mtn Hillclimb crew!
2007 Crow Mtn Hillclimb crew!
Arrrrrrr, ye scurvy crew......
The 2007 Crow Mtn Hill Climb (SCCA) is coming up in September (last weekend), and the RCMC is again going to furnish our traditional Start/Grid crew for the event! Ralph, Mark, and the other assorted scalawags who have graciously assisted in the past can tell you that we always have a great time staging the race cars and sending them up the mountain. It's also good pub for the Club
, and you get a free event T-shirt as well!
I, personally, am looking forward to seeing what hat Ralph plans to wear this year

I will be there both days, as usual. Who's with me? Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.....we can always use fresh blood for the sea.......

Heheheh...
Notice that is the same hat that I wore at our car show?
Only a very few people know why I wear that hat to outdoor club events.
Man, you know I am all over this event as long as work allows.

the link doesn't work for me....would this be strictly race only cars, or will their be a street car bracket? if so I may be willing to try this out...I've always wanted to try something like this out......I know I'm only a stock cobra, but I'd like to see what my baby will do. she's got the power, I'm just wondering if she's got anything around some corners.....would be pretty interesting to find out...they used to do things like this in europe and they had different classes, never got a chance to do it....but there would be like STI's and EVO's and stripped out miata's with bad **** engines in them and they were un real on this thing.....
Rollover Protection required. Disposable cars encouraged.

You do get to see some fine Scottsboro hotties though. This one is sporting a shirt that says "Party till he's cute"
I think she used to model for Samir.

I know the limits of my car...so I don't put my faith in amazing tires, I know my tires, and I know their limits, I don't want to do anything stupid that will cost me a car...I probably won't push it to it's absolute limit, I just want to run it....legally of course.
That's because he put "com" instead of "org". Here's the working link. Should be able to answer all of your SCCA questions.

I looked at it and I can't see fee's or anything really...is there a dummy version, cause you know I don't like technical/lawyer mumbo jumbo....I hate abbreviations, I deal with them all day.....I just want to know really if I can race it with a completely stock street car and a helmet basically.....probably not, but it's worth a shot.

It's all spelled out on the website Puter and LMan pointed to:

Spectating is free. Working is cheaper than free.
"If you wanna be in the circus, you gotta travel with the clowns."
You can drive that course any time you want in your street car, and as fast as you like. You can even have someone time you and compare it to the people running the event.
This in no way should be construed as encouragement to drive in a reckless manner. Performance driving is a dangerous sport and should only be attempted by those with proper gear and training.

sorry about the error on the URL
Any chance of making this thread a sticky?
would be great to get some more folks involved in this, get the free shirt, and watch some GREAT racing! If you dont want to work start, there are lots of safety stations along the route that need staffing....see some serious race machinery go by at full song only a short distance away
You wont go home disappointed, I promise.

a street car version would be fun! I got to do 4 laps around barbers motorsports park at the MCA show and it was soo fun! ...My cobra IS set up for road racing too lol Just doesnt have a rollbar in it yet..danngit.
You don't need a rollbar to do the road courses like Barber. The Crow Mountain Hillclimb is literally scaling the side of the mountain, with no shoulders or runoff area at all. Nothing but sharp boulders (and corner workers) to hit.
If you volunteer for a corner station, you'll have the best seat in the house + event Tshirt and free lunch. Some of the specialized hillclimb cars are incredible machines.
