2007 3:73 gears

I am researching new gears for my 2007 Mustang GT. I am looking at 3:73 gears. I know 4:10 's are also an option. Since it is a daily driver, I think they would be too much. Opinions???

If the car is a daily driver and you are looking for a bit more pull then 3:73's. I went 4:10 but drag my car almost every weekend. It was a pain for city driving. I went do to 3:73's though since I am installing a procharger.

3.73 for a street car running street tires.

4.10 or more for a car which will see some strip use using racing tires.

3:73 will take you to the traction limit and a little beyond of tires suitable for your daily driver is why.

4.10 will make doing burnouts easy and fun with street tires but will seem like complete over kill driving down the highway.

My 3.73s are over kill enough on the freeway. I wouldn't want to be nor see a need to be revving any higher than I do with those gears.

I agree..3.73! And I would highly recommend Andy @ Autosport in HSV to install them. He's put gears in just about all my Mustangs. Most recently he put 3.73 in the Shelby.

It looks like it is unanimous. 3:73 it is! I would prefer to install the gears myself. Do I have to take them to someone? Are they a total pain to install?

I consider myself extremely knowledgeable and have done every thing on my car myself including my gear. Trust me.... If you are the least bit hesitant about it get someone else to do it. I would not do it again myself.

i can do a 9 inch .. i would`nt touch an 8.8 .. best thing to do is try to find a complete rear already with 3.73`s.. if possible ..
