Where's the BULLITT?

Where's the BULLITT?
So where is it? I thought it was supposed to show up in Detroit, but it appears to be another no show. After looking at all the models introduced by Ford yesterday I was a bit dissapointed, I guess we are going to have to wait a bit longer to see it.
Well we always have NY and Chicago coming up so maybe it will be shown there. I think the Mach 1 was relased in Chicago.

I believe the original 2001 Bullitt concept car was first shown at SEMA and then the production model was either shown in Chicago or New York
I know the production Mach1 was shown at the 2002 NYIAS

It wasn't scheduled for Detroit or New York. It'll be a 2008 Job 2 model, which means production will start the first week of December, 2007. The LA Auto Show is in November; I'd look there.

It was originally going to be shown at SEMA but Ford pulled it.

So from what everyone is saying we maybe lucky if we see by SEMA this year. I hate to think we have to wait another 9-10 months to see something. It sounds like we'll be more likely to see all the parts from the parts catalog first and phtoshop them into a Bullitt.

I would look for the Bullitt at the New York show in April. I don't see any way they'll wait to debut a car in November that can be ordered a month later. Not enough publicity lead time...which goes against every marketing rule in the book.
Besides, the pre-production car already exists. It was supposed to be shown at SEMA this past October, but a last minute decision was made to pull it so as not to steal attention away from all the publicity building around the Shelby GT.

Doesn't seem as though Ford has much of anything on its autoshow schedule this year other than warmed over stop-gaps and concepts that likely will never see the light of day.
But I digress.
I can't understand why they wouldn't show the Bullitt at NYIAS. For those of us waiting to determine whether or not it's worth passing over an '07 GT to get one of these, they're leaving it dangerously late, IMHO. If I hold off on an '07 to wait for the Bullitt - and don't like it - I may be passing on a Stang altogether at that point.

Team Mustang Source
Guessing Official Debut...
will be at LA (San Fran...No Brainer) Autoshow in November. I think it wll unofficially show at some sort of hoopla surrounding the 40th Anniversary of the Movie which premiered on October 17, 1968. With Chad McQueen and "Official BULLITT Mustang Replica licenced by Ford" owner David Kunz (http://www.ponysite.de/bullitt.html) and Ford Suits.
Order banks will open on October 17...Job 1 is December 1 and January 2008 it will be in your driveway.

Actually, I lose either way, because I want to order my car...and I want Redfire if I get a GT - which is discontinuted after '07. That means I'd have to place the order by April of this year...well before we get our look at the Bullitt.

The 2003 Mach 1 was shown for the first time at the New York auto show - I made a special trip just to see the car.... Also went to the New York Auto Show just to see the 2007 Shelby GT500 when it came out but I'm not sure where that was shown first... Randy
