Revv's hanging up... bad!
Revv's hanging up... bad!
In the past I have been overzealous a few times letting people listen to the exhaust (warm engine!) free revving in neutral.
Probably half the time if I rev it over 5750 (too high to free rev imo, but I wasn't looking at the tach... until the revvs stuck and I played with it a bit) it will stay there for half a second, revving, with my foot off the gas, until it slowly drops down. I had it sticking at 6100 repeatedly, and the speedo would bounce up away from 0 up to around 35 mph with the car stationary and the ebrake on (you get that warning the brake is on if you revv in neutral; the car trying to save itself from an embarrassing attempted take-off!)
Anyone else?

well, it is a drive by wire system and you are definitely are doing something repeatedly that wasn't intended and the chip can only handle so much. the dbw is designed to hold the revs for a period of time to help with emmissions (that's the reason for the dbw).....as a rule i don't think i would be winding the **** out of the motor without a load on it...take your friends for a drive and wind it up in first or second....hell, with the 3.73 gears it shouldn't take much to hear that sweet sound.
