Mrt "reload" Package Revealed
I received this message from Dan Gar of MRT today. Everything in the "reload" package sounds very cool to me - except I just don't know about the "reload" of the 08 Bullitt dash treatment he is asking me about. I will have to reserve judgment on the Bullitt engine turned dash treatment because my Bullitt has not arrived yet and I have only seen the dash from the pictures. But from the comments which I have read, it is a thing of beauty - and is now symbolic of the 08 Bullitt. So I am wondering if MRT is trying to "reload" the Mona Lisa with this particular "enhancement".
So what does everyone think about the MRT "reload" package?
Al
The "Reload" Package will consist of:
- '68 Style Lightweight Fiberglass Hood w/ OE style '68 hood vents and turn signal lenses
- Side window 1/4 Louvers, Flush mount type
- Street Suspension System (responsible/progressive lowering springs, Lower Control Arms and Adjustable Panhard bar)
- BigBrake Upgrade w/13" rotors on all four corners and Reload engraved 3 piston front calipers, of course all calipers will be red powdercaoted
- Various tasteful satin interior enhancements (possibly a satin dash kit to cover the shiny, engine turned, swirl dash trim)
- An option of power adders ie: Vortech or Paxton Superchargers, Turbonetics Turbo system (all will carry a 3/36 powertrain warranty)
- Hurst Shifter w/ MRT Bullitt numbered ****.
- Serial # from MRT
Thank in advance,
BTW, what do think of the 08 Bullitt Dash treatment?

any idea what MRT has in mind?

Nothing bright about the machine turned dash at all. I was worried that it would be bright, but due to the reflection of the black interior it looks "smokey". When the first pics of the Bullitt came out I was worried about the dash- but now that I've seen it up close I wouldn't trade it for anything! It looks expensive and really sets the car apart.
Not like'in the red brake caliper thing- too over the top.
The hood I would be interested in and perhaps the 1/4 window louvers.

You can pick and choose what you want, correct? This isn't an "all or nothing" deal, right? I think I'd leave the interior alone and get louvers more akin to what the '68 had. As I've said before, I like the flush mounted louvers (like the ones made by SHR), but I wouldn't want them for the Bullitt.
Any ideas on MSRP?

I know that you can get some things separate from the package - as they already appear on the MRT website - but I don't know if you can get all the things separately. And apparently MRT will serialize your car with the "Reload" package. The flush-mounted louvers are the SHR ones, and are the only flush-mounted ones that I am aware of, and IMO resemble the '68 louvers as close as any. I don't know any prices except for those things that appear on the MRT website.
Louvers from SilverHorse Racing can get them in HG for $334:

Sounds like some nice stuff. It's amazing how quickly MRT reacted to the Bullitt in offering some enhancements like these before the car is even finished production. Hopefully, one will be able to pick what they want or go for the whole package if they desire. The hood and louvers sound nice along with the grey calipers (no thanks on the red-too much). I assume they're choosing the centrifical power adders in order to clear the strut brace? I'd much sooner go with a roots-type for better mid range like the FRPP or Roush, but perhaps there's a clearance problem. Nice package though!
RC, you are right. FRPP said it will fit, but as I understand it they are working on the tune to go with the package. The rep said we should see something relatively soon on the website. Also, I asked him about the 3/36,000 warranty, and said it will be eligible.
Nah, they don't look much like the '67-'68 fastback louvers. They are much more similar to those on the '65-'66 fastbacks...
