The Legacy TMS Lady
Congrats Lynda! I think you've finally found the mustang that you will have for many years to come! Once you get your VIN, make sure you get yourself on the blueoval forum (http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...p?showforum=80) to track the progress, they are very helpful.

It's ordered, revised
The ordered car was an x-plan order. Some little voice in the back of my head kept saying "is this for real?" So I called the GM of the dealership this morning to get his blessing on the sale and NO GO. NO XPLAN FOR YOU!! MSRP or no car. Yes I have a signed buyers order with xplan pricing, but I'm not willing to expend the time and energy on the fight. Good thing I found this out now instead of later or you'd be reading about me in the paper, I'm sure of it. So I cancelled the order and got my deposit back.
And took it up the road to a dealership that has a bullitt coming in mid january that had no buyer. Yup, I'm paying msrp, but I'm 100% burned out on chasing this car and at this point it's worth the money to just put this to bed and get a dang car!!!
So, I'll have a bullitt in 3 weeks!!!!!

The one I'm getting was already ordered with no extra options. It does not have a vin# yet though so they are going to call in the a.m. and see where it is in the process and if I can still add anything.
If I can change the order I'm considering the HID lights ('considering' because I'm pi**ssed it has to be ordered with the security package and hence $850!!) and yes, I must have the goofy ambient lighting
If I can't change the order I will look into the HIDs aftermarket.

Hey Lynda, awesome news about the short wait! If the car doesn't have a VIN, YES they can change the order. It would take 5 minutes to do. If they say they can't, I would question them on it ASAP. The only time you can't change any order that is already in the order banks, is once the car is listed as "bucked". This means they are getting the parts on the line to build it. Usually this title is given a week or so before the car is scheduled to be built.
And about the HID's, its always better to get them OEM. It will cost more to do it aftermarket and then you have to have the extra wires and such running under the hood. Plus the Active Anti-Theft is a great system from the factory. Love mine and I wouldn't order a Mustang without one. Oh, and when you ask them to change the options, ask them to change the Priority Code for you to a lower number (10 is the lowest). This way, the factory will "pull the order quicker" and assign it a VIN. Let me know how you make out at the dealer. PM me if you got any questions.

I mean... how long was that chase scene in Bullitt anyway? Don't you think Lt. Frank Bullitt got burnt out trying to solve the case? Err, yeah that was an incredibly cheesy metaphor, but hey, it's the car talking, not me!
